Just in my experience it's a lot more to fly there, especially over the holidays. We skipped the 2009 game in Phoenix because the flights were absurd. Went to the Camping World bowl because the flights were reasonable.

Exactly, OU has to go undefeated for us to get a New Year 6. ( phone call interrupted my post and left that out)
Driving for the CWB was a nightmare. Took us 4 hours for the last 100 miles, missed the pep rally and evening entertainment. The game was the poop on top of the cake
or we beat Oklahoma in the title game.
Never let work interfere with CF. Never ever.

the liberty would be a disappointment obviously. But a week at the Peabody is a good time.
It’s well past time to get new bowl tie ins too. The Big 12 is offering the same 5 cities for a good 7-8 years now.
I'm hoping for New Orleans. Right now, it is definitely the cheapest airfare to and from Des Moines. Plus the fun of the filthy Bourbon Street experience is too good to pass up.
