***Bowl Games Thread***

You are claiming that Lawrence had control of that? If so, you are very much wrong. Ball got poked out and he just slapped his hand on top of it. Definitely not control.

So you and the refs know that when Lawrence had his hand on top of the ball while being down on the ground that he wasn't palming it and had control of it? Okay.... got it. You're smart!!

I just don't think people realize, that what this game does is give the CFP committee a free ticket to put anyone they want in the CFP regardless of record or season results. Who you play doesn't matter, your record doesn't matter, whether you follow rules doesn't matter. All that matters is the name of your program.

If you can't see how this hurts ISU, you are blind folks.

Here's the thing with tOSU though.... they haven't shown this all year long.... NEVER. So how does being 6-0 and never looking like this qualify you to be in the top 4? That's all anyone was asking.

The answer simply was because they are Ohio State. If it was Iowa State with the same exact resume.... they would have been ranked like 10 or worse.
Do you ever shut up?

Truth hurts. Not only did tOSU have a bad resume, they skipped out of playing a game they could have.

Obviously they are a really good team, but they didn't show any of this at all this year that justified them being here.... other than the name on their jersey. That is the truth.

If Iowa had gone 6-0 and not beaten hardly anyone..... they would not be where tOSU is right now and you know it. Is that fair?

Osu has earned the benefit of the doubt. Teams like iowa and isu have not.

Looks like osu is proving it right now.

For better or worse that’s pretty accurate. It sucks if you have a great year and want an equal chance, but history feeds the narrative and perceptions.

Benefit of doubt shouldn’t have a role in rankings, but everybody has a bias and there is no perfect way of objectivity comparing teams that haven’t played each other in the regular season so unavoidable.

Who should have been in ahead of OSU? Texas A&M was 1-1 vs the last CFP top 25. OSU was 2-0. A&M played more games but people want to reward A&M for getting more games in vs unranked teams.

Yep. People are going to go back and try to dunk on those takes, but the fact is their resume didn't justify them in, even if they were one of the 4 best.

Its also kind of like in the NCAA tournament. If a lower-seeded team goes on a run to the elite 8/final 4, it doesnt mean they deserved to be a 1 or 2 seed-because they didn't have one of the best 4\8 resumes. OSU appears to be one of the best 4 teams in the country in this game, but their resume was not one of the best 4 in the country.

Totally this!! Nailed it.

Even Herbie in trying to justify why tOSU deserved to be in the top 4 after the season was completely over said something to the affect..... "well we have yet to see Ohio State play a complete game yet. They've only put together about one good half in a game, but have not put together a complete game. But if they do put together a complete game, they are one of the top 4 teams, so they deserve a shot.".

Really? That's how we're deciding who should be in now? ISU never put together a complete game this year yet either.... so should they be in?

I would rather have seen Cincy vs Bama after today's games. I don't think they would have won but they looked decent even with a L today.
But Cincy is going to finish without a win vs a team that ends up in the CFP final ranking. And Cincy will be Georgia’s only such win.

You know damn well he wasn't palming it, so just stop with this very odd argument you have going on. It was fumble hoss, you got it wrong, now move on and stop being an ass. I know you are incapable of that, so it will fall on deaf ears.

You think this is palming the football?

Well losing 3 games may have been a factor.
