***Bowl Games Thread***

I've never liked the NFL prospects of QBs with that many weapons in college. When you have WRs that are running free, how challenged were you ever to make a read and a tight throw? Jones may be a great QB, but the stats we've seen in college are irrelevant because of his WRs IMO.
Trask in Cotton Bowl would agree.

The dumbest part is that OU wasnt even in the conversation. The big 12 was just written off.

Winner of a P5 conference after playing a full schedule, avenged one of their 2 early losses. It would have been very simple for the committee to just go "we dont have much cross conference competition, so we weighed conference championships for more"

They absolutely belonged in that 4 spot (as did ISU if we had won the championship game)

The problem OU had was that they didn't win the Big 12..... ISU did..... in the regular season that is. That really hurt them.

The hard part is while ND and tOSU are both way below Alabama and Clemson, I don’t think there’s anybody that they could have put in based on records and schedules. Oklahoma would play much better than ND, but with 2 losses they weren’t even debatable to be in.

Short of a bigger playoff, I don’t know how you legitimately put anybody but ND and tOSU in this year.

Is it even that fun anymore if you are an Alabama fan? They have been so good for so long now it’s like cool we win again.

Obviously you don’t want your team to lose but there does come a point where it isn’t the same feeling. Like how we all felt this year that we finally played for a conference title was simply euphoria! Bama fans are like, “Ok cool.” I live in CT and married into a bunch of Patriot fans for my wife’s family. Honest to God the last 2-3 Super Bowls they played in they hardly even watched them. When I first got out here they threw big Super Bowl parties for the Pats when they were in it. But you could totally tell they got numb to it and there are many co-workers of mine that had the same thing.

Now I bet they hate the alternative of this year hahaha.

Yeah, I think it should have been Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, and OU.

I think Notre Dame should stay in because they played a full schedule and only lost to Clemson in their last game. And I think it would be ******** to say to Notre Dame "the problem is you lost to Clemson in your last game. If you'd just flipped those two games you'd be in."

OSU has the same problem for me as Cincinnati. Are they good enough to be in the playoff? Maybe, but you can't tell from their schedule. That's why we should go to 8 imo

Im a huger homer but there’s no way ISU (or OU) should have gotten in over those that did. In a normal year, ISU probably stays 2-4 spots lower than they climbed to this year because you’d have other strong looking teams with fuller schedules.

Personally, I’d rather play in a competitive NY6 bowl over getting destroyed by Alabama by 40. Our D is good but D Adams would destroy us.

I’m not sure OU or ISU would’ve done any better against Bama but am damn glad ND got roasted like they did. Now to watch OSU get boat races by Clemson

So much this.

Strongly disagree.

One loss vs 2 losses is evened out (and surpassed imo) by the fact that one is a conference champion.

OU's losses were also early season and close, while ND's loss was a late-season blowout.
