The Ragin Cajuns doing their best to blow it. Hope they can hang on...

*Edit: cycophagus beat me to it, and he has a better avatar than I do

Kept going away from run. Didn’t defend the QB run. LA’s desire to go away from what was working on O and their lack of adjustments on D kept this close. OC and DC have a lot to answer for, especially had they lost.

We'll see if they can sustain it, but Liberty is jacked up. They better get a huge lead into HT because I think they may come out flat after expending this much energy. They are playing with the volume at the highest level.

Anyone else hoping Liberty smokes Coastal?

Reading pundits say they were "more deserving" than us makes me want to see some, "no, they aren't"
Normally I cheer for the Cinderella type teams, but the national media and commissioners of these conferences constantly berating Iowa State's ranking has turned me off. I wanted Louisiana to win for us, but aside from us winning against Oregon, I want Cincy and Coastal to get absolutely steamrolled. Sorry Bearcats and Chanticleers, nothing against you until the whining I've heard the last month and half.

I don't like it, but by rule, this is exactly like the Isheem Young play. The receiver is going down from a tackle, and the defender initiates contact with the shoulder.

(Small chance they say it was not "forceful" but I doubt it)

Edit: I was wrong.

Edit #2: This does raise the question -- if this wasn't targeting, why was Young's???

The rule for targeting HAS to be fixed in the offseason. I'm glad they overturned that, but even throwing the flag in that situation is wrong.

On this play, the receiver completely ducked his head. The flag should not have even been thrown. I never saw the Young play from the TV view (was at the game), so I can't comment on that one.

That was a horrible facemask. If we care about head and neck injuries, that's got to be more than a 15 yard penalty.

Imo even some of the ways Dlinemen get held should get more scrutiny. Bending someone back like that is a knee ligament waiting to get torn.

The problem is there is nothing associated with a knee like it is with a head injury. CTE and the effect concussions have on the brain is why the targeting thing is big. Not trying to sound callous, but the worst thing (aside from an Alex Smith situation where that could be life-threatening) a leg injury of any kind will be they can't play football again. But they can go on with life.
