For me personally: Far drive. I don’t have kids. Don’t have any friends that live in Florida. Weekday game so will have to take most PTO.

I’ll go no matter where Bowl is but Florida is my last choice.

While i can reasonably agree with everything you have said, are we all really going to sit here and complain about a bowl game? ...

I’m not complaining at all. Just listing reasons why a bowl game in Florida is at bottom of my list compared to bowls in Texas, California, Tennessee, Arizona, etc.

I’ll be there cheering on the Cyclones wherever they play but I don’t have to pretend that every bowl destination is my dream spot just because it’s been 5 years since we’ve played in one.

Ideal post season situation for me would probably be Big 12 championship game. I think I could make that happen and it would be a good compromise with the gf who wants to see friends for New Years.

Honestly, I would take any of those matchups. They are all P5 schools that would be interesting to play for a variety of reasons.

Big weekend for bowl considerations, with Oklahoma vs. TCU for top dog, winner SHOULD get a playoff spot barring a loss in the Championship game. Which might just knock this winner to a New Year’s 6.

Loser probably gets a New Year’s 6. BUT, they might end up playing each other again in the Championship, and if this week’s loser were to win the rematch, the best to hope for would be both in a New Year’s 6, rather than having the loser end up in the Alamo.

The bowls can pick from any eligible, aren’t bound by standings.

Assuming that TCU and Oklahoma end up in playoff/New Year’s 6, Alamo will presumably take the third place team. ISU/Oklahoma State game is big, win by Okie probably puts them in the Alamo.

BUT, ISU controls its destiny. Win out, and they’re in the Championship, assuming that WV doesn’t also win out. Win the Championship, it’s off to a New Year’s 6 bowl. Lose the Championship, still have a good shot at a New Year’s 6.

If ISU loses this week, it has to fight off WV, MAYBE KState, and the winner of Texas/Texas Tech for next. If ISU loses this week but wins the last two, they probably go to Camping World. Beat Baylor, lose to KState, it’s probably Texas Bowl with WV to Camping World. Might slide to Liberty, OR if Iowa goes to Liberty as some project, down to Cactus.

KState may be playing ISU to become bowl eligible since they have to play WV and Okie State. Texas/Texas Tech on the last week also may decide which of the two is eligible, and which may stay home (5-7 can still possibly go), unless Texas can beat WV and Tech beats Texas.

Personally, I’m thinking 8-4 and Camping World. And Bolton playing this week, starting by the end of the year unless Meeker can return full-strength. Unfortunate to lose a RS, but good for next year.

Interesting times, great time to be a Clone fan, already knowing there’s a bowl trip set for SOMEWHERE.
