BLTs

Does anyone ever buy BLTs when eating out? I absolutely love BLTs and will make them at home, but refuse to buy when eating out because the lack of bacon used doesn't make the price worth it.
I have ordered it out a few when the mood suites me but mostly disappointed. DCC makes a great one. A lot of bacon cooked to order and choice of bread toasted to order. I always get it there so either Davenport country club or home is the best I have had.

A BLT has Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato. It can have a spread that is mayo or mayo plus a single flavor enhancer (e.g. mustard, siracha etc). You can use any bread that a 70yo man would recognize as "bread".

If you put peanut butter, fried egg, jalapenos, collard greens, garbanzo beans, soybeans, balsamic vinaigrette, avocado, salmon, quinoa, onion, or lutefisk on it... it's not a fricking BLT anymore. Its a WTF sandwich with bacon.

I will go back and forth between Hellman's and Dukes. Both are good.

Also, making your own mayo is very easy, and is fantastic. Just need an egg, oil, vinegar/lemon juice, mustard and a stick blender/food processor. It's incredibly versatile, too. Add in garlic or hot sauce or balsamic vinegar or curry powder or basil or any number of other things and you can tailor it to any dish you want.
Homemade is as good or better than anything you can buy at the store.
Based on description, I have no doubt that's a superior mayo, but I'm too lazy to put that much work into a condiment. :)

1. Slice of toasted white bread with a thin layer of miracle whip.
2. Iceberg lettuce.
3. Juicy home grown tomato 3/8” thick.
4. Thick cut bacon.
5. Another slice of toasted white bread with a thin layer of miracle whip.

Down the hatch

For all you miracle whip haters, just remember, a sandwich isn’t a sandwich without the tangy zip of miracle whip.
