Bird hitting window

My parents have a similar problem at their house. Lots of windows on the side that faces the river. Many birds have flown to their demise. For a while my mom had some window cling things as that were supposed to help. Didn't do much. I think the birds have learned somewhat or all the stupid ones died as fewer seem to fly into the windows now.

My mom did start putting bird feeders up that seemed to result less birds flying around all the time and instead hanging out by the feeders, but a down side was after awhile turkeys started to show up. One there got to be 20-30 turkeys on the patio every day, my dad put an end to most of the bird feeding. They still have one feeder up. Wouldn't have been too big of a problem, but the amount of poop was an issue. Some turkeys still show up but much fewer than before.

When the house was being built and a few days after the windows were installed, the construction workers came in to find a dead screech owl in the middle of the floor.

So needless to say, the house hasn't been overly friendly to birds.
