Big Ten Meltdowns

I'm more curious about this Nebraska group thats threatening to file a lawsuit against the Big 10 on Monday unless their demands are met...

It will take a little more than just Nebraska to get this to work. They tried this type of thing in the Big 12 where they were a much bigger player and it didn't really go their way.

I mean nothing will change but at least then it would give the appearance of trying to listen and sometimes people just need to vent. The biggest problem with the Big 10 wasn’t really that they aren’t playing. The problem was they made the decision prematurely and seemingly without full input.
Except it wouldn't. These parents and the fanbases that are angry about this aren't going to say "Well, we didn't get what we wanted, but at least he talked to us." They want to play football this fall. They are dressing it up with calls for transparency, but the end result is that the league decided not to play this fall, and they disagree with it. It doesn't matter if they were given video of the Big 10 discussions and the vote taking place, they're still going to disagree and demand to play this fall. And that's not something that Warren is about to agree to right now. So it doesn't matter what he says or does, because the only thing that will make them happy is something he can't/won't do. He doesn't win any positive PR for meeting with these parents, only to have them continue to hate on him because football isn't being played. Literally no good can come from it.

Nothing good can come because they weren't transparent, sent out mixed messages and Warren himself clearly doesn't agree with the science the b1g's choice was based on. . The choice may not have been Warrens, he may not have any control over it but he is responsible for how this was all communicated to the public. It's his office's mess. It's fair that he is getting the heat over it.

I agree that he can’t give them what they want. I also agree that at this point they can’t salvage this decision to the parents. I disagree on the PR win. Personally I think he deserves to be fired for just a complete lack of leadership. I’d maybe back off that stance if he said you know what we didn’t listen before I’m going to listen now even if it doesn’t change the result.

Is this based on stuff you've read? Some source? Because many other conferences cancelled fall sports, including another P5 conference. And I'm not sure how much input should be required. A majority of Presidents up/down vote would be good enough for me.

I don't think we can state the bolded about the B1G until we (the Big 12) have completed a fall sports season.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love for us to do great and the B1G to not have a season but with respect to these parents...they're just a bunch of clowns with no legitimate b@tch. The university presidents decide: good, bad, or otherwise. If Jay Kallenberger from Bettendorf doesn't like it he can p!ss off.

Is this a serious question? They clearly didn’t get full feedback from everyone. They also clearly made it prematurely as the next day there was a new test that could be important in success of football. It remains to be seen if we can actually play football but I think the Big 10 made a poor decision even if it ultimately becomes the same result.

Who is this?

You gotta love an organization that claims Warren is off base but their own university will protect players and does not know why 13 players got rabdo on the same day.

Even the folks who support them have to be a little bit red faced. Travelled all the way to Chicago to yell at an empty building.

Well they did get to hold their "We Want to Play" signs and talk to reporters. Laughed when one of the tavern hok dads praised the Big 3 conferences 'because at least they are going to try' to play.
