BIG ROB ENERGY Robert Jones

Was the announcer influenced by the CF Shop shirt?

I'm going to say yes because the Big Rob Energy was something he and I brainstormed.

This is like giving yourself a nickname. It cannot be done or it is lame and forced. Everyone knows he brings energy. What's next, referring to everyone by a nickname? "That foul is on Big Rob Energy". "Checking in for the Cyclones, Caleb the Axe Murderer Grill". "Basket by Tamen Lipsey Hustle, assist to Gabe of the North, Kalschur". Needs to stop.

I'm on the record that I think the forcing of stuff like this on a Hilton crowd isn't useful or does anything to help the crowd. But if they want to force it, there's no harm in it.

But for the past 5 years my friend has brought her 5 year old daughter with her to games. This is the first year where I think she might actually start watching the games fairly closely. And she decided that Robert Jones was her favorite player because he was wearing purple shoes on Sunday. So he better keep wearing those shoes ;)

Don't care about the nickname. Just love the fact that Bob is a solid team contributor. Another good, tough effort today.
He seemed like nothing more than a warm body over 6'8" when he first stepped foot on the court last year but the guy really has improved, has great effort, and does contribute. Count me as a Bob Jones fan.

It appeared a couple of post feed plays were run for him. He has improved immensely. Coaching and his hard work.

I just love his effort. He never seems to take a play off. There are certainly a lot of players who possess more natural ability. However, nobody is going to out work Rob. Further, you can tell he did a lot of work in the off season as he Is noticeably better, IMO.

Bob Jones is what is great about college basketball. Came to ISU not very skilled and will leave ISU very skilled.
I don't think I'd go as far as to say very skilled. BUT every high school coach should use him as an example of how much you can have an impact by just playing hard every second you're on the floor
