I prefer BNK to Gameday. ESPN is just so in bed with the SEC and blue bloods. I also can't stand Reece Davis. Arrogant D-bag. BNK also seems to talk more about the actual football games I think. I know a lot of people hate Urban, but the guy knows football. I love listening to him talk football strategy and his insights. As a human being? Not so much.
I'd love if BNK came to Ames.

I agree. Big 12/11/10/9 has a much better ring to it. SEC and ACC should take the Big 9 and 11 names and really make it fit.

For me it’s just football analysis. Big Noon gives you, “the cyclone offense can air it out with the best of them but their ground game is producing the foundation, here’s Cyclone RB coach guy talking about the preparation and performance of the guys that make the run game tick”.

Gameday gives you, “the Cyclone offense is HUGE, but not as huge as what has happened to one young cancer survivor that met their best friend through an unlikely source, a high school football coach in Texas”

They must get a lot of views on those sap stories because they're constantly made fun of for it, but they don't seem to be letting up.

They brought on Sims, the Peloton star or whatever, and it's obvious she isn't as prepared/polished as many of their previous sideline reporters. I'm not sure she watched college football before this job. They should pay whatever Molly McGrath wants and put her on there, but I think she's set as the top sideline in-game reporter.

I still put gameday on because it's tradition, but I don't listen to much of what they say. There are so many podcasts and media outlets now that offer more in-depth coverage. We don't really need Gameday to set the table anymore.

It used to feel more organic, but ESPN has sucked the life out of everything they produce. And Rece Davis has turned into a smarmy douche. Instead of it being a celebration of college football Saturday, it now has a cynical tone.

For 2019, McCarney seemed like such a dependable choice. Has the Fry-tree tie so it connects both programs, obviously knows the rivalry from the inside, would make ISU his pick and he's engaging and passionate. Not like he's averse to that type of spotlight, "personality"-wise. Maybe he was considered for it, but was unable to commit, I have no clue how the process works.

Maybe he wouldn't be the go-to at this point, but considering it in retrospect.

Schedule/timing would have to mesh for Purdy/Breece/DM.

It's ESPN. They don't care about college football. They care about a production for casual viewers.

I don’t think Big Noon has ever been in Ames, but a big part of it is what other big games are said week.

Because it's our most nationally relevant game? Seems pretty obvious.

Networks are looking for rivalries and P4/P4 matchups early in the season, and CyHawk has landed on a weekend where the national schedule is getting softer every year. It's a fortunate thing for us as it seems like the game is getting more attention every season.
