Is trent the one that has the annoying pitch to his voice that just makes you want to turn off your radio? You know what I mean? Like that feeling you get when you hear a recording of yourself talk and you are like: “gross, I sound like that?” Is that him?

Its funny people think they are owed a statement or information. And I find the popular consensus on here pretty pessimistic. Nobody knows anything. All I know is the Big 12 should be doing as much as possible to set up for damage litigation if things don't go well for all involved. If there is a landing spot for anyone no one should say anything to that effect.

Why should we not be owed a statement or information? I invest a lot of money into ISU with tickets/donation. IMO - they should be transparent as possible.

There is no other business that could get away with this. I think the public should get a statement and regularly.

Power 5 was what emerged from "BCS conference" when there were six conferences with BCS bowl autobids, and now there are five with New Year's Six bowl bids. It was never an official term; it's just what the media came up with based on perception.

No one knows what the bowl/playoff landscape will look like moving forward so it's not really clear what people will call the top conferences, or if the term will include the Big 12. If we get a 12-team playoff with 6 spots reserved for conference champs, then the Power Five leagues will make it basically every year and the 6th spot will go to an American/Mtn West/Sun Belt team, so I think the Power Five term would have a pretty good chance of surviving to refer to "the conferences that basically always make the playoff."

and if the Big 12 dissolves and only four major conferences remain, they will be renamed the Wh0re Four because they put dollars over sport.

Yes - best attitude to have fun for the fall as a fan. It isn't often we have multiple preseason all Americans and a top ten ranking to boot.

Stay ranked and stay high profile until another league is looking to add, and then accept that invite. It should happen if we remain a top 15 program.

Here’s an idea. Big 12 should raid Mexico and Canada and become the first international conference. UNAM is one of the biggest universities in the world. Surely they can put together a football team and find enough money to get some student athletes some fat NIL checks. Viva la doce grande!

Yawn. Of course the Big 12 is saying this. They are in a stalemate until the Texas and OU negotiations are settled. I still think we move towards 4 power conferences, I'm just not sure on when it will happen.
