BIG 12/SEC Challenge

Here is the full list:

2018 Big 12/SEC Challenge
Oklahoma at Alabama
Georgia at Kansas State
Baylor at Florida
Texas Tech at South Carolina
TCU at Vanderbilt
Oklahoma State at Arkansas
Kentucky at West Virginia
Ole Miss at Texas
Tennessee at Iowa State

WVU and Kentucky could be a good matchup.

Nice. I like the matchup given the lineups for both teams. Here are the conference matchups...

Too late on the conference matchups...deleted.

You forgot A&M at KU.

That is a good draw for ISU. They can win that game.

WVU v. Kentucky and OU v. Bama and Baylor v. FLorida are easily the best games.

So ISU non con is pretty much set?

@ Mizzou
Iowa
UNI in Des Moines
3 teams in Puerto Rico
Tennessee
6 cupcakes in Hilton

Damn I just went with my gut and now looking back at it I'm surprised how competitive that series is going to be. I'm drinking the kool aide picking ISU over Tenn - that game is going to be close.

My way-too-early picks (I like the home teams a lot this year)
I put them in confidence order of most likely to happen to least likely. TCU and Oklahoma could surprise me, but outside of them, I struggle to see the Big XII getting a road win.

Texas A&M at Kansas
Texas Tech at South Carolina
Baylor at Florida
Tennessee at Iowa State
Kentucky

Ole Miss at Texas
Georgia at Kansas State
Oklahoma State at Arkansas
TCU at Vanderbilt

Yawn. I hope we bother to do a little better than that.

Prohm is kind of in a sticky situation with scheduling... with a young team.. you obviously want to win games but have a decent strength of schedule.

I don't think Pollard is going to open the door, either. We show up for crap games, so we'll keep getting crap games.

Starting my schedule complaints earlier than usual (or maybe necessary) this year.

How do they decide which four SEC teams do not participate?

Are they free to fill that with their own game, then?

We need cupcakes next year for the non con. November and December is not going to be too pretty. Last year I was complaining about all the cupcakes too, this year not so much.

No, we don't. If we need cupcakes, it's because we suck.
If we want these guys to develop, they need some degree of challenge.

Since this will inevitably devolve into "Can't play Duke every game," that's not the point this year or any year. Just drop the 200+ RPI kind of teams in favor of teams between 100-200. It provides enough challenge to develop and still has the wins.

Calipari should just hope no one is on the disabled list after that game.

Has Missouri ever been in this thing? I wonder if the Big12 said no to them.

Missouri has been in it, but not since first 2 seasons. Through last year, Mizzou had more appearances than Alabama , and as many as Georgia and South Carolina.

Big 12/SEC Challenge

It’s strange not to play for 3 straight years, though. I doubt it’s a “Big 12” thing, since A&M will be in 4th of the 5 years. It’s probably more because Missouri has sucked, so SEC got higher profile teams.
