Baylor is the only ranked team (AP). Wonder when the last time the Big 12 only had 1 ranked team.

WBB pollsters "research" order:
(1) Overall record
(2) Brand-name schools
(3) Conference record...maybe

The problem is the teams that entered conference play ranked are low in our standings. Instead of TCU, ISU, and OU gaining respect, Texas, WV, and OSU lost it.

The only thing now to save league respect is for someone to beat Baylor.

It is much harder to get into the polls than drop out.

Personally, save Maryland, Baylor, UConn, ND, and SC, I think wbb as a whole is down this year. The level of play this year all around is just sloppy. Heck Tennessee almost lost to a middle of the road Florida that was without their best post player to concussion.

The overall quality of the game is just diminishing. When we see teams winning even though they are committing 20-30 turnovers a game, something is wrong. Shooting has just been abysmal as well.

Hopefully Big 12 will step up and play some better noncon schedules next season.

Whole at times I hate our control offense with no fast break, our offense still has glimmers of beauty when shots fall.

Also, glad to see back door cuts added this last game. More please.

End or rant.

Who in the conference - other than Baylor deserves to be ranked? the conference is WAY WAY down this year.

Maybe the Sooners but they are getting no respect. They played a tough non-conference so don't have gaudy win totals. Still, they are 9-2 and have some name panache. Maybe they don't like Coach Cole anymore.

Isnt this a bit of an oxymoron? If everything is down how for you play a tougher schedule to gain respect? I know this car gets played quite a bit, but next year we will be very, very young. Playing a "tough" schedule might yield mixed results. BUT...I believe the leadership from day one will be better.

I think the basketball "story" of the year is Oregon State - they play a fast-paced game with lots of ball distribution. Very fun team to watch.

There will be opportunities in the NCAA to prove them wrong. I still think they'll get 5 or more teams in the tournament. (At least I hope)

I forgot about Oregon St. I've only seen one game of theirs, but was impressed.
