Surprised there was no Mike at all in the season finale.

This was my thought the whole episode and it kind of derailed me from fully enjoying it to be honest. The guy who you give 2nd highest billing in the show doesn't have a part?

Of course from what we know on BB and BCS, this show does things like that.

Other thoughts: I assume either Chuck is dead or that someone comes in and saves him...however, would make sense that he's dead as he sort of had "closure" with Jimmy.

Can someone explain to me why Hector had to use Nacho's father's place for business? I missed something there I think.

Does anyone else still see Howard Hamlin (one of my fav. characters on the show btw) and immediately think professor Laskey?

I believe they were using his fathers place since his ice cream shop, or whatever it was, got busted. And if you remember, it was Mike that got it busted with the shoes on the clothesline scene.

I remember the shoes on the clothesline, but how did that lead to getting it busted? You guy shave a better memory than me...that or I'm juggling too many shows.

Mike tosses the shoes on the clothesline and you we have no idea why. Later guys driving Hector's ice cream truck stop in that area to pick up some cash that they stash in the desert I believe. When they grab the cash Mike start firing his gun into the air, and after initially believing they are being shot at they think it's just a hunter and then grab the money and leave. As they are leaving Mike shoots a hole in the shoe, which had some powder inside of them, and the powder starts to pour out onto their vehicle. I believe the vehicle is inspected at a border crossing and they see the powder on the vehicle and then proceed to search the vehicle very thoroughly and they find the drugs stashed inside the vehicle, which ultimately leads them to his store.

Ahhh that's right. Thanks for the recap! Just another reason Mike is one of the most intriguing characters in TV.

what i never understood about this scene is why didn't mike wait until they stashed the guns and just shoot once into the shoe? what did pretending he's a hunter accomplish? the guys would have left their guns behind anyway and once they were in the car they might not hear the gun shot, or even if they did, would not see the powder on their car.

Because a single gun shot as they were driving away would have been suspicious. But if there were multiple ones before they drive away they think it's hunters and pay no further attention to it.

Agreed. Even after getting caught hearing those gunshots probably never crossed their mind that it was related.

Kim in a Blockbuster Video? What year is this exactly? I mean, I get this is a few years before Breaking Bad, but the mishmash of styles and technology keeps throwing me.

Anyone watch Talking Saul after the season finale? Interesting to see the actors' take on the show and how dedicated they are to each character.

That was in question?
Think most industry "insiders" thought it would be renewed but there was a few "mutterings" out there that it might not be. Seemed to take a little longer than normal for a formal decision to be made.

I've been busy for the past several weeks and have only recently been able to watch the season finale.

But wow, some of that episode was hard to watch -
practically experiencing a complete mental breakdown right alongside Chuck, knowing it would not be a happy ending. Although I swore he was going to electrocute himself in one last ironic twist of his illness as he tore the house apart looking for that rogue circuit (or at least bashing the service meter apart).

Oh, and Gus is on to Nacho and the pill bottle with Hector. Will be interesting to follow next season.

And as others pointed out, whar Mike??
