Best new chicken restaurant

Slim's is now out here in Waukee and really good. I'd prefer a thicker batter, but the rest of the family prefers the light coating they use.

Chickin Lickin - Korean style version of Canes out here as well. Loved that the breading was really thick. However, out of the 6 of us that went for my dad's birthday, 0 finished a single tender because it was that bad. Now, they have a 4.8 rating so we're obviously outliers, but the flavoring made all of us sick - both the taste and actually.

I tried a Zaxby's recently, and I think I like it more than Cane's. I like Cane's, but this had a lot more seasoning/flavor it it, and the fries were better. The Cane's sauce and bread was better.

We have a Cane's but I've never tried it because I keep hearing it sucks.

Of the list, Slim Chickens is the one I like most.

Ornery Chicken and Charlotte’s were favorites when I lived in DSM.
