Beat Iowa Dual Thread

Well, I'm going to flip here for just a minute and defend Paniro. I rewatched yesterday and I did see Paniro continually looking for shots. He couldn't get in because of Block's length (similar to Endene vs. Rocky) and as another poster and the commentator mentioned, his straight on shots vs. using angles and anything other than straight leg shot attempts. Still riding with Jacob but I'm not killing Paniro for this.
That's fine. The outcome was still exactly what I expected from him in a match that mattered. He seems like a really good kid....I just can't stand to watch him wrestle anymore.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned in the thread…the product on the mat was the best it’s ever been and the guys followed their training and coaching almost to perfection…The whole environment was astounding as a fan in attendance, kicking it off with “The Boys Are Back” by Dropkick Murphys and ending with Rocky’s Entrance Song from “Rocky” to the chanting “Rocky, Rocky, Rocky” everything just worked! Kudos to the increased social media presence and overall experience/atmosphere. I’ve been to NFL, MLB, NHL and lots of other sporting events and STILL the best atmosphere I’ve ever experienced has been the last 2 home duals against Iowa at Hilton!!!

The first period of OT is wrestled in neutral and is sudden victory If no one scores in the first period it goes to two tie breaker periods each 30 seconds long. The wrestler who scores the first point in regulation has choice in the 2nd period of OT whether to take neutral , the down or top position or to defer the choice to the other wrestler. Riding time is kept in those periods. If both wrestlers escape but no other points are scored the wrestler with the most riding time wins. Since Block got out in under 3 seconds Paniro would have had to escape in under three seconds or if and when he escaped after the 3 seconds taken Block down to win the match.

First points excluding escapes and penalty points. In other words, offensive points.

That's why at 149 there was a flip for TB1 choice (score was 1-1, both on escapes) but at 174 the choice went automatically to Kennedy (first takedown).
