Baylor game is not on TV??

I have season tickets so I'm not ******** about no TV. But I'd second some earlier posts about our radio coverage. I live 30 miles east of Cedar Rapids and I cannot a radio station after dark that carries ISU FB or MBB games. I've even purchased one of those "super AM" radios and still no luck I think that's crazy that we can't cover the entire state of Iowa on the radio!!!

We want to impress recruits with no TV coverage and being able to play on cold October nights.

I agree completely!! I just moved to Iowa City (which is miserable enough in it's own right) but how is it that we cannot find anything cyclone on this end of the state even on the radio?? the last cyclone media presence in this area was that ridiculous "this is cyclone country" billboard that pollard erected just south of cedar rapids a few years ago.

Well, you know, sometimes the only way things get done right in the future is if people continue to beat the dead horse time after time.

Moving a game to 6:00 PM with no TV or Internet video and half the state not able to get it on radio because of nightime power restrictions is pretty FUBAR. It certainly doesn't seem consistent with an Athletic Department that desperately needs exposure to increase the number of donors and donations.

You can't even get the station in Mt. Pleasant?

Wow - never mind, I thought Mt. Pleasant was closer than that. However, it does look like you might be able to pick up 1600 out of Cedar Rapids, even at night. Iowa City is right on the edge.

If the Baylor game is not on TV then WHY are they playing it at 6 pm?

I dont know if it is the case in this particular game but normally coaches (if they would have the choice) would much rather have late day game starts because the coaches (at least some, if not all, the coaches) can "wine and dine" the recruits a little longer that are in town. On days that gametime is 11 or 1 the there isnt nearly the time for the "wining and dining."

i can get 1600 during the day most of the time, but only at night when its cloudy, a full moon, and mars can be seen due south in the sky.. or some other number of random events that some how effect AM radio signals after dark.

I find it amazing that an athletic department whose mission statement for the past 3 years has been "better sports through marketing" still hasn't found a way to get statewide exposure for their football program!!

Pretty sure those 40k watt stations are downsized to 5k watts at sunset so that the Texas stations come in loud and clear but Omaha cannot even hear Shenandoah 960. Sometimes the World Series, high school football on Saturday night, or local vball bounces the Cyclones from a radio station. The Cyclone network is fairly dismal 100 miles east or west of Ames. If JP can do anything to fix next year, this would be an aide. No problem for day contests in bball but fairly poor to listen to at night as signal comes and goes. Hey, JP, give us an FM connection in western Iowa if you want to spread the signal....

FM 107.1 out of Denison.

1170 out of the Quad Cities should be playing the game. Unless, that is, they feel that playing Beach Boys-era music is more important than broadcasting the first half of the game, much like what happened during the Army game... :realmad:
