Really love this game! They will stress our defense and prepare us for Big12 offenses. But their defense was pretty bad last year.

This will be Ball State's first game of the season. They will be prepared. But not having a game before this gives us a large competitive advantage

NCAA just approved the ability for all schools to use Week 0, so that's definitely a possibility.

**** Iowa. It's not safe to play instate opponents but they are willing to travel to New Jersey to play Rutgers. Hope we replace them in the future with Notre Dame(I know that won't happen n Lol) or some other power 5 school.

The prelim schedule shows South Dakota Sept 5 and Ball State Sept 12. Maybe switch a Big 12 game to week zero. With the Big 10 and Pac 12 shutdown that would be genius marketing and give the conference some flexibility for potential covid related make up games later in the year.

Not saying we don't shake up the schedule to fit week 0, but I don't see us moving the Big 12 schedule in any way. I could see us moving all 3 games up one week, giving us a Bye on 9/19. That would give us two weeks essentially before starting the Big 12 slate.

They return the most people in the MAC and were slated to do well. Highest scoring offense of the MAC last season with a bunch of returners but a dismal defense.

So hopefully a high scoring shootout. Where eventually our Defense stops them in the fourth quarter.
