Bad system config info

My wife's computer got the blue screen of death. It's old (8 yrs) Windows 10. I tried all the fixes w/o success. She wants photos from it. Any way to get in to get them. She doesn't use One drive or other cloud storage.

I’ve taken the old hard drive and put it as a second drive to my new computer and had success. It’s been a while, but I seem to think that I had to do something to be able to read the drive. Maybe had to have the same username as the old computer? But Google would be a better source of instructions than this old man.

Have you tried starting it in safe mode? Press F4 while starting.
