Audi Crooks to Transfer

Might not be an endorsement and I have no idea on her major, but a personal banking assistant job at her initial NIL Northwestern Bank (?) or a customer service rep at Kemna would be easy reaches. Some type of job at Fareway in corporate wouldn't have been a stretch at all. Plus any ISU WBB booster that needed an office manager type person for their business. Some type of fundraising job at the ISU foundation. Maybe not a ad a yr free money job, but she certainly wouldn't have to work real hard to get hired in Iowa.
Audi wants to play in the WNBA. She doesn’t want to be a customer service representative at Fareway. Wtf.

I’m actually excited to see how this plays out. I think a new coach may benefit Audi greatly, but time will tell. It is my opinion that Bill created a lot of the issues within the team this past season. You can’t favor Audi so much and not expect players like Jada and Addy to be disgruntled. Bill didn’t coach Audi hard. Was that him or was it her.

In order to coach a player hard they have to be accepting to that coaching. There is a fine line between not wanting to alienate them (leading to the portal) by pushing them (diet / conditioning / what they want them to do) vs pushing them when they don't want to be and they leave. Her next Coach will not have to worry about the transfer issue since she is a one and done. Plus I am not sure what leverage the ISU staff had, you are likely not going to bench someone averaging 25+ per game. I am a believer that you cannot make any athlete do something that they do not want to. The GREATS have an internal drive to get better and work. I question whether AC has that drive.

Liabilities maybe but they didn’t refuse to play a morsel of defense. Opponents actually used her to screen their defenders to clear their path to the basket. How the **** is 36% from three as a team considered couldn’t shoot straight? It’s obvious your mind is set and I don’t give a ****. But just because you aren’t willing to see it doesn’t make it true.

Be glad Audi is gone then. Should be easy to replace such a liability as a player.

As this has dragged out, my assumption is that the market is correcting. Blum reportedly estimated her NIL value at $1M. SI reports an unidentified SEC team valued her at $450,000. I think she’d fit at Minnesota, where Sophie Hart graduated after starting 36 games. The Gophers are relatively close to mom in Algona, already play a slower pace and already have established outside shooters. If this Oklahoma courtship falls thru, maybe Dawn P at MN makes a run!?!

I guess we will see how it plays out for Audi. I believe it is the coaches job to get the best out of a player. Bill’s handling of Audi and the issues that resulted on and off the court were totally unacceptable in my view. Playing favorites can be toxic for a team, but Bill playing favorites isn’t new to Audi. One significant difference is Audi is a different person than Bridget and Ashley. She needed to be coached differently.

I am not disagreeing with this but she would have had to be willing to accept this coaching.

For anyone that thinks coaching is going to fix what we saw out of her this past season I have a mile long bridge I’d like to sell ya.
A new HC who makes her accountable in similar fashion to her new teammates will improve her D and minimize/hide her weaknesses or bench her for extended minutes. That did not happen last season at ISU which was the primary reason for the mass exodus.

Please name me 2 players that were on OSUs team this last year without looking it up.
All you’re doing is admitting you’re not much of a women’s college basketball fan. We played OSU twice last year - if you watched either game you’d know a handful of players. Staillee Heard is a Big XII first team performer. Her little sister was on the team. Amari Whiting is the daughter of the former BYU head coach. Lena Girardi is Joe Girardi’s daughter. Macey Huard is former QB Brock Huard’s daughter. Not that it matters in the greater scheme….

Blame all around, I can't see putting this on any one entity. The 80's Boy George song comes to mind, It may not translate for others, however.

The words, “would be easy if your colors were like my dreams, Red, gold. and green”...lyrics in Karma Chameleon reflect a yearning for consistency and alignment in commitment. The chosen colors – red, gold, and green – could represent passion (red as love or ISU Cardinal), value (Iowa State Gold or $), and growth (in CBF it may be curtailed, but Audi says she seeks it in the move and "the green grass" is not in Ames) which are essential facets of a healthy relationship.

Well said.

I am if for no other reason I won’t have to see her jersey in the rafters.

Pretty safe that wasn’t going to happen anyway. Why the hate and hostility?

Iowa State University does not formally retire jersey numbers for women's basketball, but instead retires jerseys to honor elite players. The four women's jerseys currently hanging in the rafters are Tonya Burns (#42), Jayme Olson (#53), Megan Taylor (#51), and Angie Welle (#32). These players are recognized for their exceptional contributions to the program.

She may want to,….. and no doubt will get drafted somewhere. How much and how long she plays is another story. That game is pretty fast compared to college basketball.

Once again you overstate. No hate no hostility. Her lack of effort made me stop watching. I look forward to a new start. That’s it.

But “fans” like you completely disrespect the women’s game by treating them like girls defending the indefensible.

I watched both of the OSU games. Attending a few home games in person. The vast majority of people don’t care about sports in general. You throw out FB and MBB and you cut the people who pay attention a lot. You go down to a niche sport even more. I like college wrestling but I would bet if you are a fan of ISU and don’t have a big love of the sport, you’d struggle to know wrestlers on the opposing teams we faced

I am treating Audi as a player who has exceptional offensive abilities as well as some defensive liabilities. IMO her offensive value outweighs her defensive liabilities. Her Second Team All American status supports that view.

Audi wasn’t even the elite recruit I her class. Audi wasn’t given a starting position right away. Audi outperformed the previous starter. Audi is what she is. She has limited quickness.

Stop with the “disrespect the women’s game” BS. And move on from Audi.

The coach has all the leverage. If Audi wasn’t coachable, and Bill kept running her out there, shame on him. He’s the catalyst of “the Iowa State way”, yet he ran a player out there that refused to play defense? As Jimmy Johnson said, I have the best motivator right next to me…..the bench.
