Great, now you did it. Here comes 9-3. And more fired coaches. That is a lot of money spent just to go 5-7 every year.

Say what you will about Nebraska but it is undeniable that they have the best facility in the United States college or pro, I bet it would rival the best in the world!

VCU has a pretty passionate fan base and some of these schools that don't have football and put all their resources into basketball have some damn good facilities.Per Chris Hassel, VCU has better basketball facilities than ISU, and it's not particularly close. I never would have guessed that.
Not saying I disagree with you, but college facilities NEED to be better to attract recruits. In the pro leagues players don't have as much freedom of movement, so facilities aren't as high of a priority.Ho does one know if college sports has a spending problem? When their facilities are better than most professional teams
Seems like those plans have been put on a serious hold or maybe even just flat out dead now that the Athletic Dept has to pay $20 million a year to the athletes.Hilton needs a renovation so badly. It seems like all of our sports venues are either outdated or bare bones in appearance compared to our other league counterparts.
I just find it a little funny. A college football player gets drafted in to a team with a net worth over $1 Billion. They step foot onto their practice facilities, look around, and say "This is it? College had way more and better stuff"Not saying I disagree with you, but college facilities NEED to be better to attract recruits. Sad that despite the growth in revenues the last 20 years, we can’t both invest in revenue generating infrastructure and pay the most important revenue generating inputSeems like those plans have been put on a serious hold or maybe even just flat dead now that the Athletic Dept has to pay $20 million a year to the athletes.

I wish we would have updated HIlton before we did the Cytown thing. Hilton is just shabby right now. For some reason our greatest sport at Iowa State get's the least amount of money going to it.
Fair point. But some of the stuff showcased (such as the video board across a field to mimic presnap movements of their opponents) are things that you don't find in NFL facilities. Even the food at the practice facilities are often nowhere near the quality at college. Here's an excerpt from an article last year regarding the Bengals food at the practice facilityThe thing is NFL and College Football are very different. The NFL roster size is half of the college rosters so they do not need the same size of weight rooms / training facilities etc. Also many do not train there in the off season, they have their own trainers and training facilities so in reality the facilities are used less than half the year. Also there is no need for the lounges / entertainment areas, these are adults that go home to their homes / families after practice, no need for the off practice time facilities. IMO justification why NFL facilities may not match college ones.
