seems like it was a tell.At the time it happened and to this day I don't see why we agreed to such a low buyout compared to what other schools are agreeing to.

He had similar amounts for yearsseems like it was a tell.
Is there still a limit on # of coaches a team can have?f It used to be head coach plus 10 assistants.
It was $4 million until the renewal last August. And it was more than that before the late 2020/early 2021 renewal. Prior to the two most recent renewals it was structured so it went down each year instead of staying at a constant amount. He had similar amounts for years
A lot of the coaches we are hiring are still with their old schools and will be through the bowl games. I wouldn’t worry about it to after WSU and Toledo’s bowl games.Should I be concern there's been no official press release on assistants? I figured we'd have something official by now.
He said during his intro presser that he's going to wait until the staff is complete before announcing.Should I be concern there's been no official press release on assistants? I figured we'd have something official by now.
Nah, that was 5 years ago. These guys are either in Ames working already or will be by the end of the weekend. No one is staying at their respective school to coach in a minor bowl game, outside of Jesse Babbit and he's only really there to keep tabs on the guys CJR wants to bring to Ames - similar to the role that Heacock is fulfilling in Ames. Coach Heacock may or may not go to PSU but him sticking around in Ames has nothing to do with weighing any sort of decision.A lot of the coaches we are hiring are still with their old schools and will be through the bowl games. I wonder what the connection is. Nothing obvious stands out.https://auburntigers.com/sports/football/roster/season/1894/staff/jake-thornton

Nice, off our radar but looks like a good get if he does become OL coachhttps://auburntigers.com/sports/football/roster/season/1894/staff/jake-thornton

Is he though? Auburn avg 2 rushing yards more per game than ISU last year, but gave up 42(!!) sacks on the year, putting them at 132nd out of 136 teams. ISU gave up 21 sacks this last year, only in front of South Carolina, Missouri State, Ball State and Troy. Not trying to spit on the guy, his guys put up nice stats at Ole Miss prior to the 2022 season when he joined Auburn, but in 3 years, his bio talks about nothing any of his OL at Auburn accomplished - slightly concerning to meMight just be best oline coach available
Valid, but sacks could also be effected by a QB not being mobile or fast enough, or receivers not getting openIs he though? Something to consider with those sack numbers is that Jackson Arnold sucks at footballIs he though? I'm sure there are lot of hidden connections. Who would have thought that JP was buddy buddy with the Washington State coach?Seems like a weird mixture on offensive staff
