Artemis 2 Launch - Going Back to the Moon

Never understand why it takes so long to get them out of the capsule.

I'm really enjoying this, especially the NASA commentary. However, why don't they get a bigger ship close to the capsule and hoist it on board. Seems like they could have done that about an hour ago.

If they hoisted the capsule onto a ship, they could let the astronauts walk into helicopters, rather than these tricky, yet impressive, helicopter lifts.

Bigger ships are slower and harder to maneuver. I'm sure they've done the math on it. Consider also they need to get very close to the landing zone without actually getting hit. Easy for a little boat to get out of the way.

NASA's youtube explaining the medical check ups and the powering down of the capsule.
Said crew felt great after splash down. Even said they took a lot of selfies with the Navy divers/doctors that came aboard.

We were watching it with my FIL (mentioned in my prior post) and I asked how long it takes the capsule to cool down after going through the atmosphere. He didn't know the answer but in a couple days when things tone down he was going to text a friend at NASA and ask him.
