Here is the actual quote from CMC:

“This will be the best Quarterback, in my opinion, that from a mobility, throw-ability, play making ability standpoint that we’re going to play. He’s got all of the tools and we saw that last year against us here and we were able to see what he can do post-game after our game a year ago.”

Take it for what it is. I’m not arguing if a tweet was or wasn’t accurate “journalism”, words were left out, but CMC quote speaks for itself.

Pretty sure only BYU and us dont sell beer. Guess we are the only 2 fanbases with SLOBS.
This slob wasn’t prepared for the metal detectors at BYU last season so I had to resort to dumping my flask in a large shrub/cement pot outside of the stadium. After the game an older BYU fan saw me digging around to find it. When I pulled it out he laughed at me, said he had his own stash at home, and thanked us for coming out.

WATER BOTTLES TO BE ALLOWED!
The ASU athletics office just told me that because of the weather forecast for Saturday they are allowing outside water bottles to be brought in to the football stadium.

Here is my plan:

Bring in two water bottles. One chilled for drinking in the first half. One frozen to tuck behind my knee to cool my circulation during the first half and then for drinking in the second half.

Here's the financial report from 2024.

Based on 2024 numbers and some assumptions I made (i.e. ALL games are the 'same'):
$2,447,010 - per game home ticket revenue ($17.129M/7 home games)
$309,256 - per game Concession, Program, Novelty, Parking revenue ($2.165M/7 home games)
$296,952 - per game Event Staffing expenses ($2.078M/7 home games)

$282,229 - per game Travel expenses ($1.411M/ 5 away games)

Pay G5 team $1.5M to come to Ames -> approximate 'net' = $960k ($2.447M + $0.309M - $0.297M - $1.5M)**
Home/Home with G5 team -> approximate 'net' = $1.088M (($2.447M + $0.309M - $0.297M - $0.282M)/2)**

**I'm not an accountant; I just hate uninformed arguments with people pulling numbers out of the sky, so I will readily admit my methodology may be off.
You can’t do that with ticket sales. Season tickets are the same price no matter. Can only use single game sales for the math. Similar with parking.

Season tickets are the same price no matter how many games we have. You can’t take all ticket sales, divide by games and say you will make that much in ticket sales with another game.
I know. I don't have access to specific details of how the money ends up in the bucket, only the size of the bucket so I made an assumption to 'average'.

Feel free to show your work/ analysis.

I think his point is that ST revenue is the same for 6 or 7 home games. So, if we go to 7 home games a year, what is the added revenue minus expenses for the single game tickets (and perhaps mini packs) for the additional home game every other year.

Just spit-balling here, but once you factor in all the costs of hosting a game is it even profitable to have a 7th game if there isn't a significant increase in ticket sales? I could absolutely see all of the expenses surpassing concessions & merch sales for 1 game against an opponent that typically* doesn't draw a huge crowd.

*yes, I know we just sold out a game against SD but 1) it's a close enough school that I suspect they had a lot of fans in Ames and 2) that certainly hasn't been typical prior to 2025 and isn't something we should count on.

How do they make sure everything gets on the truck, say one player forgets his shoulder pads?

Due to the heat Mizzou changing the kickoff time. Guessing easier to make that move when it's broadcast on ESPN+ instead of a normal tv network.

Looks flippin' miserable. Hot, with lack of wind. Fortunately minimal, if any change to the heat index.

So glad we aren't at home because we'll be about the same back in Ames.

I am sure if we had 7 games consistently every year.... they would increase ticket prices. They dont now because its every other year I mean they dont use the 7th game as the excuse to raise them now, they just raise them.

I mean raising prices because of adding games, is better than raising prices just to raise prices like they usually do.
