*** Arizona Pregame Thread ***

Things I'm hoping come along:
-receivers keep figuring it out.

-LBs.

-OL/running game.

AZ had a bye week too so I'd guess both teams come out with urgency, maybe a few different looks than what film shows.

After Arkansas State lost to Kennesaw State I'm not sure what to think of this team lol. Except for Iowa, every team we've beaten has gone on to disappoint pretty heavily.

I think/hope the defense looks a lot faster on Saturday. I'm also pretty concerned about Konrardy being out 5-6 weeks. A walk-on freshman kicker does not fill me with confidence.

I think the home crowd carries us here, but I bet it's a close game in the 4th quarter.

While I agree, wasn’t Konrardy also a walk on freshmen last year?

Also what happened to Gilbert wasn’t he kicking off earlier this year?

What makes you unsure? Do you realize they have been playing a month strait without a bye? Not to mention traveling halfway across the world and back then playing in 100 plus degree tempts. I don’t care how physically fit you are that takes a toll on your body.

My biggest worry is this kicking situation. Chase might be amazing, I just have no idea. He can make extra points so that's good. But can we kick 40 yard field goals? I just don't know how far he is comfortable.

Edit: chase did make a 42 yarder in high school school so hopefully he can handle stuff from 40 in.

I wonder if Perkins is getting some reps for longer field goals? I tend to think they'll probably go for it on 4th downs if the field goal is longer than 35 yards, unless Gilbert is healthy.

Concern here is Az team speed vs ours. Hope Heacock has a plan for their QB.

This is an interesting narrative. Many of our fans have been raising concern about this as we all watched Fafita look like the second coming of Michael Vick in the second half of the KSU game. However, for his career, he is not a big running threat. So far this year he has 28 carries for 37 yards. His longest run is 15 yards. Last season, he had 66 carries for 17 yards with his longest run being 24 yards.

For comparison, last year Rocco ran 98 times for 318 yards with a long of 32.

HOW old is Fafita?

This is right, he really has not been much of a threat to run at all...until last week.

Clones may have erased the narrative last year but we also aren’t historically great coming off of a bye in the Campbell era. I would be thrilled if we got out to a fast start Saturday night.

Still have no real idea what to think of this team. We’ll find out pretty quickly what we have in Big 12 play.

That's because we don't beat teams, we break them.1758475227651.png
