Checked out the new thriller Apex on Netflix starring Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton. Reviews are pretty mid-tier. We all thought it was pretty dang intense and actually really creepy. Is it GREAT? No but it's definitely worth watching if you want a solid adventure thriller. The scenery is incredible. And Theron is badass. Egerton is a ******* great psycho. Worth a watch for sure.

Love your movie recs.
appreciate that and ditto. i know my tastes can be a little a tad off-kilter sometimes ha. but Apex made us want to watch other solid whitewater rafting movies like The River Wild (actually still pretty solid) and we'll watch Deliverance tonight. Eek.

My caveman level review. Theron, hot. Movie, meh. Egerton does put on a solid performance.

The Deliverance is one of the creepiest movies I’ve ever seen.

Yeah. The movie is pretty cookie cutter. But the
jerky
aspect of it was pretty gross. For a streaming movie you can find far worse. And there are far worse movies in theaters lately as well.

Simple stories that are powerfully told. That's my go-to litmus test when it comes to movies, with What's Eating Gilbert Grape as the benchmark.

Ever seen Backcountry? Not at the level of River Wild or Deliverance, but it's a wilderness hiking survival horror that's actually not bad IMO.

I think so? Does it involve a bear? If so yeah it's good. The other one I tell people to watch is Eden Lake. One of Fassbender's first movies I think. It's a tough watch though...brutal. But it's good.

Watched it yesterday and thought it was pretty good. A couple of the mountain climbing scenes gave me the heebie jeebies as I've had a nightmare or two about hanging on for dear life in similar scenarios.
