Voters were reluctant to vote for us with a supposed inevitable loss to TCU coming up the following week. In other words, "College Football" as an entity is/was already saying there is no way ISU wins against TCU. Is there any better motivation than disrespect?

Not surprised ISU isn't ranked in the coaches poll, they only received 2 votes in last week's coaches poll and were much closer to the top 25 in the AP. I think ISU has gotten more of the national media's attention after the OU win and some of the unique storylines on our team. Still think ISU sneaks into the the AP poll this afternoon, but we'll see.

This rating system still has us at #4 in the Big 12...

Calling my shot from here out -- we go 3-2. Win one of TCU or OSU, drop one on the road in an "aww shucks game," end up with 8-4 and a nice bowl game.

General question: would it be better for us to be ranked or not ranked going into next weekend? It's a huge game either way, but would it matter if we are ranked or not?

Gives College Game Day a "valid" excuse not to come to Ames (since we are not ranked in the top 25).

I dont think there is a way we are ranked this week, literally nobody lost this week other than losses to a higher ranked team. Last week everybody lost but we weren't as lucky this week.

Gotta win this week to really be taken seriously.
