‘Working’ from ‘home’

Christmas on Wednesdays it the worst. We just made up the date anyways. Can’t it be one of those 4th Sundays of the months kind of things? It’s almost 2025 but we are still stuck in a dark ages holiday calendar?
Constantine, the first Roman emperor to be Christian during his reign, had Rome begin celebrating Christmas on December 25th, and this was during the time period categorized as "ancient history".
He did this likely to be a direct replacement for the Pagan festival called Saturnalia (which had many elements of celebration that are still observed during Christmas nowadays).

Don't forget the Easter Bunny. A pagan symbol for fertility and resurrection.

Don’t quote the old magic to me witch. I was there when it was written.

But seriously, his council of Nicaea was solely political then and the date is arbitrary now.

Checking in periodically on the days we don’t have off but office is closed and we’re all WFH until Jan 2nd. I’ll probably only work 5-10 hours between now and then.

Work today and tomorrow, then our offices are closed Christmas through new years. But I'm the only one on my team not taking PTO today, tomorrow, 2nd and 3rd.

One of the best perks Oracle has.

Today and a half day tomorrow, PTO the rest of the week. Working Monday/Thursday/Friday next week.

"Working" both this week and next (well, not Tuesday or Wednesday). I have one client meeting scheduled next Monday, otherwise it's totally clear aside from an internal prep call for that meeting. I typically skip taking days off because I work from home and it's functionally the same either way.

I'm here today for no reason other than to show my face. We close tomorrow at noon & Christmas Day, but I'm off the rest of the week to burn some PTO.

I've worked every day of my adult life that I wasn't sick or out of town. I do it just to avoid having to get a real job.

Let my staff take off today at noon and not back until Thursday. I'm 'working' this afternoon and a couple hours tomorrow morning and back at it Thursday. Not getting a lot done but at least physically present.

Christmas/New Year's on a Wednesday is the absolute worst.
