Frankly, your antics would have ticked me off, too. If you're going to pass someone, pass them, don't dawdle and make them have to slow down for upcoming traffic in their lane. A little courtesy, please.

Just like America does not negotiate with terrorists, I do not allow people to cut in line. It sets a bad precedent:wink:
Actually there are no fast and slow lanes even though people like to call them that. The names for the lanes on a four lane highway are the driving lane (right) and the passing lane (left). So the intention in their creation was that we drive in the right lane and then pass someone in the left lane. After passing you return to the driving lane. Some jurisdictions have started started posting signage encouraging motorists to move right when not passing. Unfortunately the Minnesota legislature voted it down when it was suggested for MN roads a few years ago.:sad:
This thread really must have gotten my dander up yesterday.
On my commute home there is a spot where three lanes merge down to two and people are constantly speeding down the empty lane that is ending to get ahead of all those who are merging earlier where it is safe. Some will ride the shoulder for several hundred feet to try to get ahead of even more traffic.
Last night as soon as the lane marker ended (in the merge zone) I merged with the lane that was ending. Some bozo came screaming up behind me like they usually do and started to move over onto the shoulder. Yesterday I was not going to put up with it so I proceeded to move halfway onto the shoulder so he wasn't able to use the shoulder as a passing lane. The driver of the car was making quite a show for the twenty-something friends of his in the car, yelling and screaming and telling me I was number 1. I went with traffic like this for almost a half a mile until a right turning lane appeared. When I moved over and stopped for the stop light he went screaming by and stopped in the turning lane. When the light changed, he gunned it and cut off the car in my lane so he could continue straight.
I guess what I am saying is that IDIOTS are my driving pet peeve.

I don't know if it's been said or not, but one of my biggest pet peeves is when I'm driving on rural highways. It seems so many ppl are in a hurry to pull out in front of you only to turn a 100 yards down the road and making you come to a near spot.

This thread is cracking me up. This used to happen constantly to me to and from SC/Ames on Hwy 71.
I just had an incident happen to me. It's a two lane street with a turning lane at the intersection. Guy pulls into the turning lane, I pull into the lane to his right, planning to go straight through the intersection. We're waiting for the green light. Green light comes on, guy and I start moving at the same time, he goes straight instead of turning. I have to hit my brakes or smack into him. I lean on my horn because this jerk is unaware that he just made a driving error and is about to hit me, he flips me off. He's probably still unaware that he made a driving error, which is what really ticks me off the most.
Another one happened a couple of days ago. Guy behind me pulls into a turning lane, then proceeds to pass me, racing to the driveway of a grocery store where he's going to turn. Since I'm going to the same store, I have to slow down and let him pass me IN A TURNING LANE, so I can duck in behind him to also turn. If I hadn't been paying attention and just moved into the turning lane, WHERE NO ONE IS SUPPOSED TO BE BESIDE ME unless they're coming from the other direction or I'm passing them as they sit there and wait for traffic to clear, I would have smacked him and it would have been his fault.

My guess on the first one, he realized he was in the wrong lane - didn't really want to turn - and decided he wanted to go straight. Happens alot. Rules of the road be damned.
It's just their world and we're living in it, ya know?
