Another female teacher incident

A former neighbors wife was caught with a HS senior. She was more a para than anything. Kids who would help me load pigs told me she would pick one HS senior every year to “counsel”. They knew a couple kids and had a lot of info of what they did. She got a lecture from the super and she still is at that school. Still married too

When my teachers asked if I needed to talk it was usually in their room, not behind the John Deere dealership
These days you are playing with fire messing around with a kid if you are in education. It is a sickness for many of these people. So I get to sleep with that student, but if caught I am going to jail for the next 5 to 10 years would be enough of a deterrent for most to not even think about doing it. Those that do, screw them, lock them up and throw away the key. If have taught with a few of these kind of educators, and I would have nothing to do with them.

As a mandatory reporter you are required by law to report anything you see or hear of this nature to your superiors. But few do, because they do not want to get caught up in it.

Forgive me as i have not followed along on your previous posts here, but shouldnt this be an all the time thing and not just a "these days" type thing?

It should be, but it was allowed to slide by in the past, not saying it should have been, just that was the way it was. If you are doing it today, schools that in the past looked the other way because they did not want the scandal, no longer do it. Parents that in the past did not want to their child to look down on or themselves now see a path to suing the district.
The practice itself was never right, but it happened, I am not excusing it, just saying it did happen,

We had a HS teacher who was rumored to be with a junior/senior when I was in school. It was so well known amongst students, I don’t know how parents couldn’t have caught wind and said something. As parent now, it’s wild thinking back. And as mature and well adjusted as I thought I was at 15….It never crossed my mind to anonymously report something. To me, at that age, and with her being older than me, it absolutely seemed consensual.

He was eventually caught red handed with a different student a few years after I graduated. So I’m sure the relationship with the girl closer to my age was legit.

But count me in the camp that thinks this is probably happening much less than ever before, which is scary.

I retired from teaching two years ago after 36 years, going back to when I was in school in the 70s, I would say its happening a lot less than when I was going through high school, when it was very common. Things that teachers got away with in the 70s, 80s and early 90s would land you in prison today. Everything has changed, in this area for the better, and schools are so afraid about getting sued that even a whiff of a teacher and student messing around is not only going to get you fired, but authorities are going to be called in.

Back in the days you could just deny it, but with cell phones, computers and cameras everywhere, you are not going to get away with it. Just don't do it, and put an end to this madness.

That is why most districts would stay out of it, when's its a couple of staff members. Most do not want to be involved in your personal problems and it's very common in education of having adult staff messing around with another staff member. At most call them in and remind them that they are professionals and do not put the school in a compromising position. Like getting caught naked together in a laundry room.

I hate when that happens

Laundry day has new meaning and excitement.

It's always been the dirty secret of education that few were willing to talk about. When it happened in the past the district nor the parents wanted to see it in the papers, so the teacher was quietly told to leave and everything was done to keep it quiet or cover it up.
Sorry part is many of these teachers that did this crap after leaving went on to do it at a different school later in their career.
Their behavior makes all educators look bad, lock them up and throw away the key.
This is basically what happened in Oskaloosa with the basketball coach at the time. Charges were dropped and he was fired, and what do you know, he did it again at the next school.

Especially at Catholic schools. They reallly dont' want it in the paper that a teacher did something like this. I still think it's true today that private religious schools would not make a big deal out of it and just make a payoff to the kid and make the teacher go away
Catholics don't have a corner on the market. I may have shared this story before but it is relevant. It isn't exactly the same as a religious school but at a small town Methodist Church and they kind of swept it under the rug.

When I was in grade school there was a young, married minister at our church who left our church and left his wife. I was too young to know what was going on but I later learned he got caught in a relationship with a high school girl in my brother's class. He ended up leaving his wife for the girl after she graduated. My mom knew all about it in part because she was friends with the pastor's wife. I looked him up 5 or 10 years ago and it appeared that they were still married. The scandal would have been in the late '70s.

Well they are still married, I guess maybe it was real

What is surprising the amount of 17 & 18 year old Jr.s and Sr. females that are basically throwing themselves out there for the young male teachers right out of the college. Not making excuses for the guy, but the gals make it very clear that they are fine with the idea if the guy is up for it.
One of the perks of being an older educator is once you get into your 30s that no longer occurs. I remember telling young male teachers to never be in room by yourself with a female student, and if you do, be sure the door is never closed.

I was at a wedding in August. My oldest was a groomsman. He said the priest seemed out of it and not too concerned. A week or two later the next step showed up in church and read a letter that the priest had resigned since he had sinned and knocked a chick up.

Guess he had a different wedding on his mind.

In our class, we had a teacher have a thing with one of our classmates, nothing done. Also, another classmate had a thing with a teacher and they got married, they still are. So you are exactly right, it was allowed to slide by, but they shouldn’t have gotten away with it.

They should not have looked the other way, but that is in the past, the important thing is they no longer look past such behavior and if you are doing it, you are going to end up going to jail. That is the way it should be, it there is an attraction there, wait until they are out of school.

This thread is so weird and creepy.
Right. We have everyone freaked out about female teacher sexual abuse. One guy whose claiming women have it worse than guys, go
Some unknown reason. It’s just weird. The frontal topic of women teachers raping kids is interesting though
