Amen to that. Living in Eastern Iowa I'm amazed how many people start complaining about her when the conversation is not even BB related. I'm standing in line at ****'s Sporting goods yesterday and some Hawk fan I didn't even know starts complaining to me about how the WNBA officials are not "protecting Clark enough " and then goes into a tirade about what a thug Reese is. When the Catlin Clark effect wears off the WNBA will go back to having similar TV ratings to reruns of the Rockford Files.
Bro, I would watch Rockford Files, with no phone, for 2 hours. WNBA...2 minutes.

You said people flocked to see Rodman. Just saying this guy is more likely who they were flocking to see.

I never actually said anything. I simply posted a picture of a guy who made his living rebounding the ball and often times his own shot. You can make a fine career and persona out of purely being a rebounder and a sideshow.

He was also a great defender and could generally score when he wanted to.

I don't know what Reese is for NBA comparisons but Rodman isn't it.

Rodman was great on the defensive end I will give you that but offensively he wasn't good. He averaged less than 6 shots a game for his career for a reason.

I guess I should have posted a picture of Ben Wallace...

I'm not saying Rodman scored a lot. He could generally score when he wanted actually made the putbavk.

To boot he was a freak athlete.

people flocked to arena's to watch Dennis Rodman? He's more than qualified as a HOFer and he became a fan favorite late in his career but people didn't tune in to watch him play.

I went to the preseason game in Lincoln Nebraska where the second threepeat Jordan Bulls played the Clippers.

Rodman delivered for the crowd getting ejected in a preseason game and the crowd burst into "WE WANT RODMAN" for a good five minutes. Obviously MJ was the main draw but the crowd in freaking Nebraska was absolutely nuts for Dennis Rodman too. To that crowd Scottie Pippen and all the rest were clearly minor characters in the Jordan and Rodman show.

I'd say Reese has a long ways to go to be as dominant a force as Rodman though. It's not a coincidence he was at the heart of multiple franchises championship runs. The guy could shut down centers as a forward in an era where center play still dominated lots of games. You can count on one hand the players who could guard prime Shaq/Malone but also switch off onto a speedy guard and he's the first one I'd think of.

If you look at the Huskers history in BB I would just assume people in Lincoln don't know much about good BB

I honestly wouldn't know jack about this woman, if she wasn't constantly in the media, but I did run across a stat that said 30% of her rebounds are from her misses.

I cannot fathom why people seem to care so much about this.

To be honest, it has always felt like casual racism to me in this context, or maybe even sexism, but could also be a form of self-validation...people sometimes go out of their way to find fault with others who are clearly superior to them in some field. Lots of examples of it in TV and movies...

there is a craaaaaazy weird thing going on in social media with these WNBA players, mostly CC but it leaks into Angel Reese and oddly Kate Martin too by proximity.

Just wild misinformation. Yesterday I saw a youtube video about Michael Jordan investing 50 million into a CC shoe brand because he's impressed with how she donates over 5 million every year to charity and he had to salute her charitable giving...just a load of nonsense, kind of harmless but nonsense, then the same channel will have incredibly nasty false videos about other athletes. A few weeks ago Iowa Everywhere covered very well the videos about Caitlyn rescuing abandonned babies from garbage dumps and adopting them.

The crazy thing is on these videos you read the comments an 99.9% of people are old lady fans of CC who beleive it all and worship her. It's the strangest thing ever and I would love to talk to whomever has discovered this odd way to make money.

Both of those guys shot around 50% for their careers. This year she's shooting less than 31% from the field. Her career so far she's at 38%. Shooting that bad when most of your shots are within a few feet of the rim deserves to be called out.
Not the point of my post.

It's the focus of some Clark fans that offensive rebounds are a negative. I'd never heard the term me-bounds before criticism of Angel Reese. It's her haters coming up with a negative description to describe a positive attribute to her game.

It would be like calling every 25 ft three point shot by Clark as a me-3.
