Why this so called issue keeps both players in the spot light so more clicks means more money.I think she'd be better off dropping the public jealousy of Clark as she draws a comparison to a player that is simply way better than her.

This is the biggest factor in her perception, imo. If Reese came along 5 years earlier or later than CC then she's probably a great college player who's struggling in her second year as a pro. Not a crazy thing. But being framed as Clark's contemporary rival (while clearly not shying away from it) gives Reese a super high standard that she can't deliver on.She has a role but she did herself a disservice pitting herself against CC. I know some of it was media-made but she certainly hasn't run from it. Her overall game is atrocious but she's an elite rebounder. Problem is she thinks she's putting butts in seats, but she's not a draw at all.
A big part of it is style of play and what she does. I don't think tons of fans flock to arenas to watch somebody rebound. She has a role but she did herself a disservice pitting herself against CC. Just lemme say this for Miss Reece...her stats are better than mine ever were or ever will be.
people flocked to arena's to watch Dennis Rodman? He's more than qualified as a HOFer and he became a fan favorite late in his career but people didn't tune in to watch him play.
Brash, outspoken, couldn't shoot, not liked by people for "reasons"... people absolutely tuned in to see what Rodman would do on the court.
Shouldn't be too hard for you to prove then. All you have to do is show how the ratings for games that Rodman didn't play weren't as good as ratings for when Rodman did play. Or how attendance for games Rodman played were better than games where he didn't.
She has a good nose for the ball and fights hard on rebounds, yes including all the mebounds. That's all she does. She doesn't shoot well, doesn't post up well, doesn't score with her back to the basket, doesn't run the floor well, her defense is ok but not great.
But a big part of why she gets so many rebounds is having 6'7 Cardoso in there with her eating up space and occupying the other team's best big so she can kind of roam free.
The fact that she barely shoots over 30% from within 5 feet of the basket is pretty embarrassing.
Rodman didnt play 1/23/1998 vs the Nets - Attendance was 20K
Rodman played 2 nights later and the attendance was 24K.
Rodman and way more skill than Reese. Lol....

You know what, even though that second game two nights later was against the Jazz, a finals rematch, I'll give that to you.
I don't know how people watch it.Just from social media the WNBA seems to be leaning into the petty drama and glam for ratings much like other leagues do.
I've tried watching but imo it's not what it wants to be.
Amen to that. Living in Eastern Iowa I'm amazed how many people start complaining about her when the conversation is not even BB related. I'm standing in line at ****'s Sporting goods yesterday and some Hawk fan I didn't even know starts complaining to me about how the WNBA officials are not "protecting Clark enough " and then goes into a tirade about what a thug Reese is. When the Catlin Clark effect wears off the WNBA will go back to having similar TV ratings to reruns of the Rockford Files.I cannot fathom why people seem to care so much about this.
