This is really really good, their pregame show was really good as well. I wish we had this kind of breakdown to watch every week. Iowa guys, but they do a really great job breaking down the game in way you just don't see a lot. Not a bunch of meatheads. Very complimentary to Iowa State as well.

This is really really good, their pregame show was really good as well. I wish we had this kind of breakdown to watch every week. Iowa guys, but they do a really great job breaking down the game in way you just don't see a lot. Not a bunch of meatheads. Very complimentary to Iowa State as well.
These guys give me the uncanny valley feeling like it is AI generated.
What this drives home is that this was a typical Iowa game.
The opponent being close to busting it open, with a talent /scheme advantage, but in the end Iowa wins it off getting a tipped ball INT…or the opponent missing on a 54 yard FG

The pod was really well done. I stumbled upon them last year when some clips came out saying that Iow State had no one that could beat Iowa over the top. So naturally I hate watched the recap episode.
This year both the preview and recap episodes were really good. As mentioned earlier I wish we had an Iowa State version of this podcast.

Most of my Hawkeye friends are reasonable and down to earth these days. Even the most die-hard Hawk fans I know wish they had a fan base as loyal as ours. Its gotta be frustrating as an Iowa fan watching how inept they are on offense every year. They do some things that any program would love to do. Produce good offensive lines and play good sound D. That's why we didn't win that game by 20 and they'll still win 7-8 games. Even though I absolutely despise the Hawks I've always respected Ferentz. He the best coach they've ever had. Even as I say that I think his inability to change philosophy offensively is a major problem. I agree with these guys that their QB has the ability to cause defenses problems but its unlikely the utilize him right.

I’m about the furthest thing from a Hawkeye fan but that’s one of the best football breakdown pods I’ve heard in a while. As far as I know there isn’t an ISU pod that really breaks down the X’s and O’s like this, but I’d be seriously interested if there was
Two things I'd like to see some time soonish:
Jay Jordan's football articles breaking things down, and Scotty C. doing basketball games. He was really, really good.
Hosts with more knowledge of X and O or at least are willing to study and learn. I won't name names, but many of the podcasts I don't bother paying attention of any of the "analysis" because there isn't much of it, just banter and stories.
Wow, they are so knowledgeable and so complimentary of ISU. I am a huge ISU and college football fan, but I love to listen to stuff like this when I don't understand half of what they are talking about in terms of schemes, fits, etc.
We need our guy back.
His articles with the GIFs and play breakdowns liek 5ish years ago were reeeeeally good and detailed. I'm sure those are super time consuming for one guy to compile though. Woody had some good videos on Twitter a while back just standing in front of his TV and talking through plays. Not sure if he still does that though
CW mentioned that they are hoping to get Woody and his whiteboard back for a (hopefully) weekly analysis hit sometime soon. It's tough to work around his schedule now that he's got the color gig.
