alley oop shots

I wouldn't be surprised if Fred told them not to throw up alley oops. I don't even think they've attempted one this year
I've noticed the absence of alley-oop attempts, too.
Doesn't bother me much. Exciting when it works, but I'll take boring ol' catch-and-shoot if it's more effective.

Its what elderly people call a pass from one player to another player in which the player catches the ball in mid air and performs a "dunk shot" or throws the ball threw the peach basket with much force. The play if executed properly is sometimes followed by the players embracing in a mid court chest bump of sorts and generally has the player yelling, to express his manhood to the onlookers. If the play was especially admirable, you may find audience members discussing it later at various pubs or gentlemens clubs.
McGee and Allen both have springs but I doubt we're going to draw up lobs to our guards.
Also, the lack of PG is a factor here, how many fast break buckets can you think of this season? I bet they can be counted on two hands.
I was thinking that the other day how we dont get fast breaks ever. scotty pushes hard but we never get the opps i guess. I remember back with stinson and blaylock we were always getting open dunks ect.
One thing that drives me nuts is alley op layups. Seemed like K-State would do that alot. Not that it doesn't work, but it's kinda like going to a drag race and not seeing any burnouts. :SLEEP:
It's when you go in for a filling and the hygienist tosses the Novocaine needle across the office, allowing the dentist to snatch it out of mid air and stick you before you have time to think about how painful it's going to be.
Following the alley opp shot, the dentist and hygienist usually high five and/or chest bump and talk smack to you while you try to pick your jaw up off the floor. Usually however, your jaw just continues to hang there while you drool uncontrollably all over yourself.
Oh I know what an alley oop is, but an alley oop shot? I've never heard shot be included in that statement before. Is that when you lob the ball to a guy who catches it in the air and shoots it while he is still in the air? Totally underutilized in my opinion

Mcgee is a fast break every time he touches the ball. Damn that dude is quick
The first play of the year against Lehigh was an Alley Oop to Royce White. It failed miserably. I think I saw one or two in other games early this year, but nothing worked. Haven't seen one since.
I remember one failed attempt to McGee and another I'm thinking from allen to Royce but I may be wrong. I like the heads up plays. It is very hard to time an alley oop.
