In my less than amateur opinion he's rusty but has more technique. He's still really quick.

Edit: maybe technique isn't the right word but he seemed to wrestle really smart.

He controlled the match IMO. Really good hand fighting, pushed the pace. Had that pep in his step he had a few years ago.

I thought he looked good.

You can tell from the whistle that he wanted to hand fight hard.

Definitely some rust from bastida but can’t complain about that performance against #4 after the long break he’s been on. Feel good about him getting into full form this season.

Bastida looked great. I was shocked at the lack of action by Ghadiali. He looked fat, and clearly did not want to get into many wrestling exchanges with Yonger.

Match went about like I thought it would. A lot of handfighting. Mendez was settling up for shots with his, appeared to be the difference.
