I don’t think the take on edibles is too outlandish. Some people have superhuman metabolism that eliminates the THC before effects can be noticed. Other people might have sluggish metabolisms that don’t break down the THC at all. Medications can also be a factor. It all depends on the person.
Enough milligrams gets through whatever metabolic issues someone may have. It might be a delayed high but saying edibles can’t get you high is just impossible unless their is some weird genetic condition I’m not aware of

I’m pretty sure it’s expectation. The people who say they don’t get high on edibles, for the most part, have been smoking long enough they remember the super rush, paranoia high that you used to get from the neighborhood dealer.

Edibles are just different highs.

20mg? I would be non-verbal after 10, can't imagine 20. It's really tough for me to do anything over 2.5ish and stay social
thats why I'm a sativa only guy.

if you haven't tried sativa. give it a try.

Hybrids and indica would do the same for me.

I also live in michigan where you can get 200mg packages for $5. was able to find what works best for me

I'm a lightweight. I've had 2 panic attacks from 10mg, 5 seems to be my sweet spot. I might have to look into D8, I've heard you don't get the anxiety from it that you can get from D9.

Sounds more like someone didn't learn about decarboxylation until AFTER the brownies were made.

Man, I'm kinda jealous of some of you where 5mg is perfect. I feel like I'm close to tranquilizer tolerance.

Also I massively prefer Select's 2 gr briq over other pens. I feel like I get more airflow and less "gum-ups."

This is a very wild take on a couple levels. The legal aspect is one but saying edibles don’t get you high is the Mt Everest of takes
You're wrong. There are some people that can take edibles and it does nothing or takes a stupid amount of edibles to get them buzzed. It has something to do with the way their body processes it. It's a thing. I'll add that there is a variance in the way gummies are manufactured too. The older technology does not distribute the THC equally within a batch....so there actually can be a variance in batches due to less sophisticated equipment. Regardless, everything being equal, gummies do not impact people in the same way. Again, some people, a small percentage of people process it different for whatever reason.

Smoking amount and edibles are processed differently by the body. The effects happen in different ways. No correlation on smoking amount and impact of edibles.

Like I said there could be some genetic condition I’m not aware of, I guess if your liver wasn’t producing the proper enzymes it’s possible.

Now that THC is a lower scheduled drug maybe we can get some research on it if this is a real thing

The processing of it has been researched. I believe you're a doctor, no? You should be able to give us good insight. It's a thing. And as far as research, there is a lot to be done on all of the cannabinoids. Cannabis has a lot to offer, if big pharmaceutical would either stop blocking it or join the fight. Yes, I believe it is an enzyme issue.

I’ll have to dig in to it. If what you’re saying is right it would have to be genetic and through the liver. Only way it would make any sense. I just had never heard of it before.

You are correct that smoking/edibles are very different processes. I was a big advocate for getting THC legalized for those reasons you mentioned, helps a large number of people with minimal side effects compared to most pharmaceuticals

Not a weed guy but one of my best friends was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer at the age of 37. He just finished his last round of chemo and the medical marijuana card made the chemo a **** load easier on him.

I started 2 years ago with CBD gummies and tinctures and went with the big brands (Medterra, Green Roads, Exhale, Tre House, Batch, etc). CBD, even at really high doses, doesn't do much for pain and inflammation for me, and obviously it has no psychoactive effects. I take a high dose of CBD/CBN and 40mg of Melatonin to get to sleep.

The past 10 days I've obviously switched to the broader THC choices considering what I'm looking for, and bought quite a variety to see what would work best.

For gummies, I don't really feel anything other than pain relief until at least 20mg D9, especially if there is any CBD in it. The CBD negates most effects on me, even when in THC heavy ratios (i.e. 20 THC: 1 CBD).

I have some good mixes; i.e. Exhale has a 1mg THCP, 15mg D9 THC, and 25mg HHC combo gummy, while Tre House has a cart with D8, D9, D10, THCP, and HHC. While I'm a noob, HHC, D8, and D10 help some with muscle relaxation but nothing more for me (didn't expect anything more). Since I don't get relief from even really, really high doses of CBD, those help in those muscle tension and pain scenarios with PD. The D9 and THCP obviously have the most variety and potency of effects that help from a mental standpoint.

I've found that even though I just started with the THC train, all my other meds (35 at current count) seem to make a decent size dose necessary for just a starter.
