Alamo Bowl Hotels

Dad and I are going cheap for the motel. "Motel 6 Downtown - Alamodome" Its actually 5 miles SE of the Alamodome. I feel like that is borderline false advertisement. Already feeling buyers remorse on the plane tickets. Should just drive it...But I drive a lot for work and I don't want to do it on vacation.

I went Priceline just now for Riverwalk area 3.5 star for $145/ night. Oh... Don't forget the $120 in fees. So for the three nights $578.

Sheraton Gunter. We're West of where I was hoping but all in all I'm ok with it. Just wish the fees were advertised beforehand instead of even you get to the checkout!
Anyone else there?
The Menger was 450 for 2 night but when I went to confirm it had a 16% tax and came to around 525.

The wife and I will be in the same place. Looking forward to seeing Cyclones everywhere!

Don't look at the Tripadvisor reviews......

At least it is downtown. I think for many of us, you'd rather by downtown/close to the riverwalk vs close to the Alamodome ( assuming of course, you plan to do more than just attend the game while you are there)

Ooooh, man, good luck! Hope yours is at least a little better than the Motel 6 we stayed at in Memphis. But it was pretty close to Beale Street and dirt cheap.

All in all it was 100% worth it for me. Our room reeked of smoke so we had to buy some air fresheners from Walgreens, but other than that, it was fine to crash in for 6 hours a couple nights!

Last Friday I reserved a few rooms at Mariott residence inn for 3 nights. $260/night including taxes and fees. Only a couple blocks from the riverwalk based on google maps. I know a ton of people who are going, so I'm thinking its going to be a similar showing to Memphis last year. I sure hope its warmer!!

Its like a good 6 miles outside of DT. I don't know how they get away with that.

Welp... Priceline said they couldn't get my reservation so now I'm at the Tropicano. I did get a20% bonus on my refund and this hotel is cheaper. Disappointed not to be at a decent hotel but whatever, it's in the Riverwalk area. Well unless this gets cancelled too

We are at Springhill Suites Downtown/Riverwalk. Looks like about a 5 minute walk to Riverwalk, 15 minute walk to Alamodome. But we are talking one vehicle to Lot B for tailgating! Bought two spots for extra room. 10 of us going. 8 adults, my 12 yr old son and 10 yr old daughter. Can't wait!

I'll try to keep my noise down in the bathroom each morning.

We wound up at the Omni la Mansion del Rio. Looks to be right on the Riverwalk and walking distance to the stadium. Can't wait!

I'm staying at the Sheraton as well. Thursday and Friday night. It's about 100 yards to get to the Riverwalk from there.

Drury Inn & Suites. Got 3 suites for $275 a night. 15 minute walk to the Alamodome. I wish I would have had the vaseline ready when I booked these rooms.

We'll be there too but not a suite. Curious to see what the daily happy hour will turn out to be. Looks like decent food options and free booze so what could be bad, right? Of course, they might run out of booze after 15 minutes given the influx of fans!

I'd pay to see the look on the face of the person whose job usually is to pour a few beers for people traveling for business when 100 people are waiting in the lobby for their free beer.
