Some talk over on HR wondering if Fran will go to Pitt if Dixon goes to TCU. I hope not.

I think it's in ISU's best interest if Fran stays in IC. Obviously they could do worse, but they could do better too. I wouldn't want to see them get Underwood from SFA, but I think he'll end up in Stillwater probably.

That'd be really stupid on Pitt's part, the guy can't coach.

Thought it was hilarious when towards the end of the game when the announcer said "This hasn't been a game since the ten minute mark of the first half"......:)

Pitt would not be interested in Fran

In the long run yes.

This is a delicate balancing act.

If Fran went all Lickliter they dump him in a heartbeat and there is always the chance they get lucky and hire someone good.

We want them just on the cusp of hope, just good enough they can't dump Fran but not good enough that they are, well, good.

They lose that game to Temple and pitchfork sharpening begins in earnest in IC.

my hawk friends talk about the obvious.

Fran a good coach Dec-Jan
Fran a terrible coach Feb-March

I'm impressed with the Wisc coach. Badgers lose two all-americans, and Bo Ryan bails at Christmas

This coach has really brought them along after a rough start

To coach basketball?

I think Fran is a very good coach. Look what he's working with over there. They are playing at a high level considering.

I do agree McCaffrey might look to move on from Iowa this year if something appropriate is available. He's in a McDermott like situation with his son Connor where he has to consider whether he will be around to coach him for four years should he arrive on campus. While I am sure he has other new recruits coming aboard, he loses a lot of experience and scoring with the departure of this year's squad.

He's a decent enough coach. You have to be to pull a team out of the **** fest iowa was in.

But....

He's a subpar recruiter, terrible motivator, and makes questionable in-game decisions.

Wooddderp and Gessel were 4 stars. I hope Frannie stays forever.

First post- which includes photo of a Nova player with the ball in their own backcourt with 24 seconds left on the shot clock:
Remember kids when you're Nova you get 12 seconds to cross mid court.

Second post, after another poster said, 'try again':
Huh? They inbounded it with 35 seconds on the shot clock, there they are with it at 24 seconds

my favorite was the guy who was like "what time is UNI on?"

He's done a good job considering where he started, as you said, but it's going to be rough in a couple years. I'd like to see him stay 2 more years and let things crater.

You're going to get your wish.

I'm ****** because I started this season with expectations of the NIT, then they build up to an even bigger crash than two years ago.

Yeah, this year was really a success for Iowa, and last year for that matter. I just don't see much future the next few years, but who knows.
