It looks like best-case is to reach 5-7 and have an offseason of "If only (X) had gone differently."
Honestly I feel bad for you that not only do you think that, but you typed it.
It's a 0% possibility for a team that couldn't close out two games in a row with over 90% chance to win when we had our leads.

I take you as a glass half empty kind of guy.
With Iowa State? How can you not be? It's gratifying to assume the worst and be happy when they pull it out.
It's hilarious to me someone could start a thread with any hope of getting to 6 wins this season, and people entertain it. You guys kill yourselves with overdoses on hope.
People even assume KU is a win when they would have beaten TCU had they made their last field goal.
We're not winning six games. End of story. Likely won't even win Saturday. I feel bad for anyone who entertains the thought, because it's crazy deluded. At least wait for next season before talking about a freaking bowl game.

Why do you feel that way? I'm mentally stable either way, and apparently you are not.
I want them to keep improving as much or more than the next guy, but reality is ISU is not 6-2 in the last 8 quarters but rather 0-2 in the last two games. They were so bad in the 4th quarters that it more than made up for outplaying their opponents before that in both games.Another way to look at the last two games is this - for six out of the last eight quarters ISU was clearly the better team against two opponents who will in all likelihood finish in the top half of the conference.
That's what I love about this season. I am looking forward to every remaining game regardless of the record. It's fun watching new players work their way into the rotation... true fresmen, redshirt freshmen, sophomores etc. There's talent scattered around this roster and guys are getting great experience and very good coaching. Expect another infusion of true freshmen difference makers again next year.
The only real disappointment so far for me has been UNI (still can't figure that one out -- Panthers are 2-3 including a freaking loss to University of South Dakota). If we were to get on a roll and reel of 3-4 Ws, that damn game is probably going to cost us a bowl appearance.
