3rd straight winning conference record

I think that it's very clear that we will ascend to a consistent 2nd place in the league, possibly challenging KU for the league title, as long as CFH is here.

Think about who we bring back next year - Niang, Morris, Thomas, Hogue, Threesus, plus McKay, Nader, SDW, Edozie, Custer, maybe Percy gets in shape and has a nice senior campaign. That's a nice roster, and we could still add more pieces. The best part is that almost everyone on next year's roster will be back the following year. Hogue is the only senior of note for next year.

We could really challenge for the title both of the next 2 years. Texas and WV are young and will be tough. Kruger is a good coach at OU and Weber seems to have found more success with K-State than at Illinois. We know that Drew and Ford are terrible coaches who will always underachieve, but they are dangerous at times. Tubby and Trent Johnson have bottom-feeder teams that going forward, will be tougher than any other bottom feeders in any league in the country - I think TCU could win 4-6 conference games next year with who they are bringing in.

This may seriously be the best time ever to be a Cyclone basketball fan. Best conference in the nation - and I think it could easily be again next year. Longest streak of consecutive winning conference record seasons - and I think we could easily extend that the next 2 years. It's only a matter of time before CFH brings in a blue-chipper or two and we challenge KU and make a run at the NC. Not drinking the Kool-Aid...as a realist, I actually do think it could happen.

Yes, def. uncharted territory for the program. During the height of Floyd's and LE tenure, it felt that this ride would not last. Floyd was always rumored to go to the NBA and that hurt his recruiting, and some did not make it to Ames. LE was riding Floyd's players and could never go beyond what he did his first 2 years, and then he had an issue.

It just feels different with CFH. His first year, was not a great year like LE's was, the cupboards were bone bare.

One god year can just be luck, 2 years could be using other coaches recruits, but 3 years with a totally different set of players, that means things are going right.

Actually, LE's first season at ISU was 15-15 (Fizer was a sophomore). CFH's was 16-16.
