3rd and 10

Beyond this play, Rocco didn't look sharp, in any way, shape or form.
Sure, some drops but a lotta s***y passes, including off target bullets.
His first pass was a dart right on the money, in stride. Receiver dropped it. He's probably just as tired of this as we are.

We had a QB draw that worked, I think it was the only other designed QB run we did. This was more like QB power and it sure seemed like Rocco checked into it at the line, maybe they had two plays called? The real bizarre play IMO was punting it after that.
I didn't really have a problem with the punt, for ISU it was a low % probability success to get the 1st down. It was reasonable to expect the defense to hold CU and get ball back which ISU almost (should have). But then the 3rd and 17, just wow. Hindsight and all.

So many mistakes. I guess that’s how you lose to bad teams. I figure Rocco had a concussion and that’s why he’s playing like crap. Probably should have sat him for this game.

I do not get mousers obsession with running pitch plays at the goal line. Thought he would have learned his lesson there in Ireland. First and goal from the 2, just qb sneak 4 times. Tush push whatever. It’s so dumb that we decide to get cute with the game on the line.

But so much of this comes back to Arizona. We saw player after player get hurt while we are up 3 scores in the 4th quarter. They should have been on the bench.

All season we have been told how much the staff trusts Rocco to make the right call, and if he thinks the call is not there to check out of it and run something else. The QB draw on 3rd and 10 should have never been ran, and the RPO that he gave the ball to Sama when he saw how everyone on the defense was bunched in the middle should have been a fake to him and keep it going around the corner on 4th and 1.5 We did the same play last week where he handed it off and should have kept it.
Re-watch the play....brahmer came in motion off the end and easily had the 1st down should Rocco have pulled it and a simple throw and catch

Either way it would have been a first down, better to have the QB run it there last the defensive player was covering the TE, just tuck the ball and turn it up field to pick up the first down.
