I thought a guy named Todd Stevens ran Cyclone Illustrated and he wrote a lot of the content. I enjoyed that publication for many years.

Yes,Todd wrote for that. He kind of disappeared from the sports realm.

LOL Steve Deace in another life ran it had a subscription and then it just quit coming. I think I'm remembering this correctly. It wasn't a bad magazine tbh.

The uber Michigan fan Deace posing as an Iowa State fan to be the counter to Jon Miller was the biggest fraud in Des Moines sports TV and radio. So obvious and painful to watch. Then Deace veered off into this holier-than-thou Christian fanatic which I think in hindsight was mostly schtick. Thank God for Chris Williams and Brent Blum emerging as our own guys. Authenticity is the key.

Cyclone Illustrated was a newspaper publication, Cyclone Nation a glossy magazine. Both were good. I remember when CN folded up I had just reupped my subscription a couple months before and they wouldn't refund it. I've lost a lot larger sums of money on things since, but I still think about that every time I see Deace's schtick.
