2nd tower going up this morning

If you look how they have the camera oriented now, on the Western half of the structure lying behind the goalpost it looks as if they have the catwalk inside the structure. You can see the handrails on the front and half the way back of the structure.

And look at the end of the west side. It looks (eyeballing) like it sits on the top of the support on the west side already.

What you see south of the Jake is the horizontal section of the truss. It will come in 6 pieces: three across the bottom and three across the top. The middle section will be stick built in between the two on the ground. The east tower will go up once all the parts for the horizontal are brought in. The tower would block access to the south side of the Jake and prevent sections from being moved in.

It does look like that's a crossbar sitting in front of the Jake now. If it were a support, it would be one section taller than the other side.

I'm not a professional designer, but that probably wouldn't work out. Especially with the Iowa winds

After the 3 parts that are there now, or after all 6 pieces get down there? (looks cramped down there already without fitting more in that area)

To save money, we decided to go with only one support. The crossbar will be mounted on a wheel on top of the support and when there is no wind, the new board will look like a giant flag. When there is wind though, it will spin, giving the effect of a giant cyclone.

Plus, if the timing is right, the spinning board could actually swat an opponent's field goal/PAT back thru the uprights, negating the score.... Shhh...keep that one between us, that's inside information, rite thurr...hope I don't get the banhammer.

webcam was just zoomed in on the section on the ground. If there was any doubt out there, that's a horizontal section, not another upright. No stairs in the section on the ground like the one already standing on the West side of Jake.
