I really enjoyed what I saw of the WBC - especially the U.S.-Dominican Republic semi-final and the U.S.-Venezuela final in Miami. It has grown on me over the years. Definitely plan on going to a game next time around. Personally, I was rooting for Venezuela because of Suarez, who is a Cincinnati Red. Ready for MLB!

Because someone needs to officiate plays at home plate, balks, foul balls, hit batters

Fair, but leave them out of balls and strikes. The other umps have very limited scope in their positions.

I also don’t think we’re far from technology calling balls fair or foul.
