95%? I would say the only teams outside of the US that have predominantly US born players are Italy, Israel and Great Britain.

You can add Puerto Rico to that list. But then again I guess they technically don't fall into the "outside of the US" caveat you specified.. Do any of the Central/South American teams even have anybody born in the US on their teams? The Asian teams probably don't either as baseball is pretty popular there.

I guess Mexico is also basically split between Mexican born and US born, but most of the other central or south American teams have like 4 at most.

It would have been incredibly smart for Mexico and Italy to come to a gentleman’s agreement to knock the USA out. Now Mexico is out and Italy will have a possible rematch with USA after the quarterfinals.

Then they shouldn’t set up the tiebreakers this way. I also don’t get why the games are on different days but I guess that’s because there is an odd number of teams in the pool. The format is definitely not perfect.
