***2026 NCAA MBB coaching carousel***

Scheer has made it no secret that Lloyd and the new AD don't particularly get along so it's big that he doesn't have to deal with her anymore. I'm sure that had to be part of the deal to get him to stay.
I don't follow Scheer. Curious, has he said why they don't get along. She was the AD who hired TJ at UNLV. And then was only at Mizzou a short time before going back to her alma mater.

It's incredibly problematic putting a coach outside the authority of the Athletics Department, but good for him for securing that as part of the deal. The power struggle will still exist.

He hasn't but it's always weird working for someone that didn't hire you in that world.

I expect she's out completely, but it won't happen right away. General thought in Tucson is she's replaced by the start of football season. Keeping her around short term looks to be a saving face thing for her.

She also apparently just told Lloyd at the beginning of the season that her son was going to be a walk on. Not ask, see if there's a spot, test the waters; no. Here's my kid and he's on your team. I think that was the beginning of the power struggle if it indeed went down that way. But I have no insider info or anything. Just happy this distraction is over so the fans and team can focus on the FF.

It's pretty well known that most people do not like working for her. She's good, but she is an awful person to work for. That came out when she left UNLV and then Mizzou as well.

She cleaned up that accounting mess pretty quickly when she got to AZ, but she is not a pleasant person to work for.

And what sucks about situations like that (if true, of course) is that if she just would have approached it as 'my son would like to walk on, what do we need to do?', it's a completely different conversation that probably ends up with the same outcome.

Probably, this isn't Pee Wee, not everyone gets to play.

Should we be worried about Otz? This is eerily similar to the Penn State search. It took awhile and a Big 12 coach (Sitake) turned down the job.
IMO TJ's statement's shut it down. I suspect Campbell really wanted the PSU job, but he was down the pecking order.

Based on the AZ AD, maybe talk we should worry about Jamie finding a nice pre-retirement job in Tucson. Tucson's a nice town.

He is so prickly, he will get along with of the Cacti! :)

Heard on the radio that Bama gave Oats a top 5 salary/extension.

WTF is Carolina's plan?
