MLB: ***2026 MLB Season Thread***

I absolutely love the Phillies Maroon and light blue unis. Reminds me of the Mike Schmidt, Tug McGraw, Steve Carlton, Bake McBride, Garry Maddox, Rose, Luzinski, Bowa, Boone, Trillo 1980s team of my youth. They were my favorite NL team (for you young-uns, the Brewers were members of the AL East in that era of baseball).

This is just sort of odd how the Twins seem to fold versus the Yanks every year. Granted the Yanks are playing great even without Cole but still hard to think these should be the records over a period of 20 years. Not like the Yanks have been the best team in baseball or Twins the worst.

We were at the game. Later, Castro took a step in, froze, and had an Aaron Judge light speed third double of the game land behind him at the fence.

A Judge, first inning home run, went into the third level of left field, 467',...it looked like a magnificent 6 iron in the air

A Judge joined B Ruth, L Gehrig, a J DiMaggio as the only NYY with 4 XB hits in one game. Pretty elite company.

A Judge second double,...

Also interesting how this chart shows only the regular-season performance when the real deal is the absolute futility of the Twins vs the Yankees in the postseason (2-16 all time, lost the last 13 straight by an average score of 6.4-3).

The Twins haven’t won a postseason game - not a series, a game - against the Yankees in 20 years.

Yanks are a bit of roll with starting pitch being crazy good the last week or so. Been some hot bats but the pitching without Cole is better than I thought it would be.

Across the Yanks’ win streak, their starting pitchers have posted a 7-0 record with an 0.80 ERA (four earned runs in 45 innings). Each starter has tossed at least six innings while permitting two runs or fewer, the first time New York has achieved that feat since July 4-11, 2010. - MLB.com

Nice to have a story about tipping pitches and not have it be finger pointing or anyone saying cheating. . Old school tipped pitches and runner on 2nd signaling a relay. Just the guys on the field...no spies with binoculars, no electronics, no trashcans,

Pitcher: Pretty sure I was tipping my pitches. Good on them for picking it up.
Runner: Yup. I could see that from 2nd and relayed it.

Aaron Judge was hitting .179 on April 20th. He's hitting .384 in May with 10 HR and 19 RBI for the month so far and raised his average to .275.

Other guys who started cold and are currently hot:

….

Interesting chart on the top career averages since 1947– three of the top five are Twins.
