***2026 Minnesota Vikings***

Does JJ want to get the ball JJ so bad he struggles getting him the ball?

I actually thought Collinsworth had a good point on this. Trying to force the ball to your #1, especially for a young QB, is really hard. They are drawing the toughest coverages, and are often doubled. Just alot more danger in trying to force the ball into that, as opposed to finding other guys who are 1 on 1.

Agree, didn't think about that until Collinsworth said it.

Those back shoulder fades they kept trying to throw Jets had to be in the perfect spot and they weren't. I think JJ was so worried about INTs he was putting those throws in uncatchable spots.

Cousins and Darnold were really good at those throws. I think that will come with more experience.

Vikings made 2 attempts to get to NYC to play the Giants. The first attempt, the plane had problems. So they went back to the TWC’s. Tried a second time,I think they made it.

Drop pile from Vikings WRs ticks up by one yet again. NINE doesn't exactly put a dime out there, but it's definitely "good enough" and Addison flat whiffed it.

Addison, Jefferson and Nailor all with drops in the 1st quarter. Way to help out your young QB.

As bad as McCarthy has been his receivers have not given him much help.
So many drops this year or non catches like this one that gets intercepted.

I get that some of it does fall on JJM either on accuracy or on pace. The Jets drop I can get, it was early and too fast, so be it. Addison drop was inexcusable, must be caught. Nailor drop/INT must be caught, or at minimum, knocked down. Not deflected directly at the defender.

McCarthy needs to learn not every ball needs to be thrown 100 mph.
Brady talked about this weeks ago when on one of his calls. Tom was shockingly supportive of JJM on most fronts, but repeatedly harped on him having no touch at all.

And another tipped pass INT, saved only by a totally unrelated defensive penalty.

This is why he's never going to make it in this league. When is he going to learn any semblance of consistent touch? Almost all of his turnovers are on rocketed balls missing high/deep. What's frustrating is that most of his progressions are pretty solid. He simply cannot throw effectively.
