***2026 Minnesota Vikings***

Vikings offense has a LOT to clean up. They are not even close to being game ready. KOC.... this is on you.
I really don’t think the plan was to have McCarthy even start this season. We tried to get Darnold and Jones on a short term deal and either of those would have obviously been the starter going into the season. Jmac is so young. He shows a lot of moments so far in two games, but it’s going to be a learning season for sure.

Would really be happy with 7 or 8 wins.

I have no idea if JJ will end up being good, but someone needs to teach him how to put a little touch on the ball. He throws the football like a middle aged dad trying to win his kid a prize at a carnival doing his best Uncle Rico impression. Everything shouldn’t be thrown as hard as you can throw it.

In fairness he's just trying to get rid of the ball before he dies.

Obviously it’s way too early to have any idea about McCarthy. But a) if they can execute HS level blitz pickups and not let free rushers untouched it won’t matter and b) McCarthy has been pretty bad for 7 of the 8 quarters he’s played.

Agree. McCarthy will likely be more ready in 5 or 6 years from now.

Watching the offense was making me go to sleep. Luckily it was a night game

I’ll give McCarthy a pass this game. He had a crazy week becoming a dad just 3 days ago. With that said, I haven’t seen any fireworks from the offense much this year. Hope it clicks for the team soon

Going to have to remain patient this year with JJ. Step 1 is getting the line healthy to protect him and get a run game going around him, step 2 is continuing to get comfortable with the speed of play. He is still basically a rookie and is adjusting to the speed of the game. If he doesn't show tangible improvement by the end of the year, I will start to be concerned.

I also don't think Penix played that much better than JJ last night. He didn't make the bad interception throws, but he also had a rushing attack that got him over 200 yards and essentially took all the pressure off of him. Bijan is arguably the best back in the NFL and can make anyone miss, but I think it was pretty evident we were missing Cashman last night. Ivan Pace also probably had his worst professional game. Lots to shore up on the rush defense before Cincy next week

Definitely. He missed a lot of tackles, and just took bad angles or went to the wrong gap on more than one occasion that I noticed.

The defense was not stellar, but held their own despite being down a few starters.

The offense is also down some starters, but KOC needs to do way better with what they have. McCarthy is going to have PTSD soon if KOC can't get a little confidence built up in a hurry.

I can't ***** about the defense all that much. They were out on the field constantly, and kept us in it for a long time. Yeah, it got bad at the end, but if the offense does ANYTHING they would have stayed more fresh.

I'll take that D performance considering the injuries and the fact that they were on the field all the time. In spite of Collinsworth constantly ball washing Penix, the pass game did nothing. The run game was stout but D held their own IMO.
Offense is another story. Woof. JJ needs more time but I'm not sure that's all. He doesn't know where he's going or how to get there.
