***2026 ISU Volleyball Thread***

Watching that was just… wow. Great to see the changes when some hitters are having off nights.

Sucks that Tierney was in a boot. A number of players I was surprised didn’t play (like Lily), but maybe they are in a funk.

This showed some grit and never gonna let a rlly good by attitude. Hopefully we can sneak one or two at KU.

Clones win the 4th 25-19!

DeRonde started in the front row and Martin played DS. DeRonde has four or five kills from the back row tonight.
Yeah, with Goolsby struggling and Jackson injured, DeRonde filled in at OH and was awesome in the front and back rows.

And Hanfelt emerging at MB the last couple of matches from essentially out of nowhere has been amazing.

I’ll never understand how some players get away with throws/power tips like they do. I mean more power to them if they can get away with it I guess.
Somebody told me they changed the rule this year that if you do not contact the ball behind your head and bring it forward they aren't going to call a throw. It used to be prolonged contact in the hand anywhere in front or behind your head was a fault.

Jackson isn’t wearing the boot tonight so maybe we’ll see her. The announcer says that Hanfelt is under the weather but she’s still playing well. Martin is serving well and KU had zero blocks in the first set.

Playing really well against a battle tested KU team. Anyone know if Jackson is available tonight?

Announcers keep mentioning how injured we were last year and how Hanfelt isn’t feeling well. With AHW out and Jackson in a boot the other night, we don’t have many other options

Our serve and pass (out side of 6!!! service errors) is keeping us in this. Doing well to tip/hit around the block, but KU also hitting at a decent clip.

Clones lose the 3rd 25-20.

Jackson came in halfway through the match. DeRonde played six rotations.

Clones lose the 4th 25-19.

Brenizer started in place of Hanfelt and scored her first point as a Cyclone. Wachholz came in for the last few points.

as much as I took credit for the win at kstate I will take the loss since I didn't turn it on until after the first set and they lost 3 in a row. they just looked half step low.

My best friend has a daughter that plays for Nebraska. He make us Skylar Pierce. They are so good. Love watching them play even though it’s Nebraska.

Watching the team last night, the schedule is starting take take a small toll. Between some more injuries, ladies being sick and some players being a bit ”off” their normal game makes a bit tough.

The biggest two differences I saw in the loss was height (only so much talent can make up for losing 5”-8” when talent is similar) and consistency with spots on the floor.. The outside hitter for KU was simply destroying each hit with power, no other speed, but had a spot on the floor she could be consistent with.

It didn’t help the number of service errors for ISU to help retain the serve and keep the flow going. But games like that happen.

Service errors seem to be a common theme this year unfortunately.
